First fire in Sölvergsborg!đ„AKJ Energiteknik đ are commissioning a new 6 MW Biomass boiler plantđwith flue gas condensation and ORC-turbine (CHP)âĄïžfor Sölvesborg Energi.
The district heating networkâšïž in Sölvesborg covers approximately 64 GWh and is largely based on waste heat from the Sylvamo (formerly Stora Enso) paper mill outside Bromölla.
Sölvesborg Energi have invested in a new, modern boiler plant from AKJ Energiteknik. The goal is to secure a robust, resilient, fossil-free heat production that also enables future expansion. The new plant is equipped with in-house power generation through an ORC turbine (Organic Rankine Cycle).
The contract includes fuel handling with hydraulic pusher, combustion chamber with reciprocating grate, hot water boiler, ash removal, flue gas cleaning with electrostatic precipitator, flue gas condensation, electricity generation with ORC, chimney, backup power integration, as well as mechanical, piping, electrical and control system installations.
The combustion system is based on AKJâs advanced control and moving grate technology, optimized for forest fuels such as bark, wood chips and forest residues. The plant is designed to maximize annual efficiency and operational availability, while minimizing emissions.
