“No tree can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.”
Anyone who has seriously walked the path of Yoga or Martial Arts understands.
Everyone wants the grace, power, calm mind, confidence, and beautiful movement. They see the finished product—but rarely ask about the roots.
The roots are built where nobody applauds: aching legs, trembling muscles, sweat, frustration, repetition, correction, and the days you don’t want to train.
You don’t develop ease by avoiding hardship. You grow by moving through tension, exhaustion, ego, fear, impatience, and frustration.
Those are your roots.
Don’t run from the darkness. Train there.
The deeper you’re willing to dig, the stronger your roots.
Freedom sits on top of discipline.
How bad do you want it?
