After becoming the first person to stand-up paddle solo across the Atlantic and wing foil across the Pacific, Chris Bertish spent the past three years preparing for his next extraordinary challenge: sailing 2,650 nautical miles, unsupported, from California to Hawaii aboard a specially modified open catamaran.
Weโve followed Chrisโ incredible TransCat Expedition project with great admiration. While the expedition wonโt launch as planned, deciding to step away after years of meticulous preparation requires just as much courage as setting out across an ocean.
