MUD FEST AT ITS BEST!

The MXGP track in Uddevalla was definitely not showing its best side this weekend. Rain, rain and more rain — bikes were stuck everywhere, and the track turned into a real mud battle.

JWR Honda MX Team Sweden has unfortunately had some bad luck with injuries, meaning both of our 250 riders were out. That left our two 450 riders, Filip Olsson and Linus Grelsson, to take on the mudfest.

The racing was brutal, with riders getting stuck all over the track. It was almost like a lottery this weekend, with simply finishing the races being a challenge.

Filip had some strong riding throughout the day, but unfortunately got stuck in the second moto. He never gave up and fought all the way to the finish, taking P7 overall.

Linus also had some good rides and finished P13 overall, despite getting stuck in the downhill section of the track.

Many bikes suffered in the extreme conditions, but the Honda bikes kept running strong throughout the mud, which was a big positive for the team.

A huge thank you to Uddevalla MK for doing a great job preparing and running the event under such difficult conditions. It is definitely not easy to organize a race when the weather turns a track into this kind of mudfest!
We definitely missed our 250 riders Hugo and Noel, but they will be back soon.

Göta MS MXSM Race Report.

MX2 – Hugo Forsgren

Rain and a slippery track made for a tough weekend in Stockholm.

Hugo had a great first heat, charging from P16 to P6 and riding really strong throughout the race.

In the second heat, Hugo got off to another excellent start, coming out in P3 and showing good pace. Unfortunately, his foot-brake lever got bent, forcing him to lose valuable time and preventing him from fighting for the result he was capable of.

No luck this time for the hard-charging Hugo, but the speed and riding were definitely there.

MX1 – Linus Grelsson

Linus was back behind the gate after six months out with injury. His comeback resulted in P17–P17.

It’s not where Linus wants to be, but the most important thing is that he is back racing again. This is just the beginning of his comeback, and we look forward to seeing him build his speed and confidence with every round.

MX1 – Filip Olsson

Filip is still fighting his on-and-off illness. He managed a solid P10 in the first heat, but unfortunately had to DNF in the second heat.

The focus now is to get home, regroup and recover before the next round at Uddevalla.
