Katyayani inspirer us to face our own fears and defeat our inner demons, our fears and thoughts.

Katyayani Devi is a fierce warrior goddess who annihilated Mahishasura, the buffalo demon who represents greed, conceit and intolerance. His reign of terror threatened the earth, and no god could stop him—not even Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, or Lord Brahma.
The gods sought refuge in the one power that could restore balance: the Divine Mother. From their united prayers and invocations arose Katyayani, a goddess both fierce in battle and boundless in love.
When the great demon saw the splendid goddess, he was overcome with desire and asked for her hand in marriage. Katyayani Devi replied that he must first defeat her in battle.
Goddess Katyayani is invoked for true love, mutual respect, and lasting companionship. Her worship offers solace in times of loneliness, heartbreak, and isolation, and strength to seek love that honors our true worth.
Goddess Katayani’s favorite flower is the rose.
Her mantra is ‘Om Devi Katyayanyai Namah’
