Potential 2027 Unleash The Roar! (UTR!) Overseas Scholarship applicants took their first step towards an overseas stint this week. ⚽️

Shortlisted boys (13-14 y.o) and girls (14-15 y.o) were put through functional training and fitness tests during the UTR! Scholarship Camp. The scholarship hopefuls also took part in matches where they could show their ability.

The players, from clubs and academies across the island, were recommended by their coaches. Some were also invited after being scouted by UTR! coaches. The camp provides an ideal platform to assess players for the scholarship and identify talents that have potential to represent Singapore in the near future.

The group of players will now be cut to identify a core group of potential candidates for next year’s scholarship. The shortlisted players will be monitored in training and matches in the next few months before they return for another camp.
The very best will then undergo a final interview selection process.

This week, UTR! welcomed coaches from the Singapore Premier League Centres of Excellence and academies across Singapore for a Coaches Engagement Session.

The session provided an opportunity to share updates on UTR! projects, hear success stories from across the football ecosystem, exchange perspectives, and strengthen collaboration as we continue working towards developing the next generation of players and coaches.

UTR! will be having two more sessions in the coming weeks. We look forward to more fruitful and collaborative discussions as we take Singapore football forward together.

Relive the highlights from the UTR! Pathways and Partnerships Ceremony 2026 at the Asian Civilisations Museum. 🎓⚽

The evening celebrated three young footballers awarded the UTR! Overseas Football Scholarship, eight coaches recognised through the Coach Overseas Attachment programme, and 16 partner schools for their continued support in developing student-footballers.

Matteo Del Rosario and Ayden Naim Fakhry Fazrul Nawaz will continue their football development in Spain, while Aria Julie Romano will study and train at IMG Academy in the United States. The selected coaches will also gain valuable exposure through attachments with professional football environments overseas.

The recipients received their awards from Mr David Neo, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State for Education, alongside their families, coaches, schools and partners.
