Happy SAF Day! 🫡 🇸🇬

Without a credible SAF or National Service, Singapore may not have survived, let alone prospered.

Across our Army, Navy, Air Force and Digital and Intelligence Service, our men and women serve round the clock so that Singapore stays secure. A small country like us has no margin for error. Our strength gives us room for diplomacy, trade, to build relationships from a position of confidence. Strong defence is what makes good diplomacy possible.

The SAF is more than deterrence. It is also how we show up for others. From tsunami relief to peacekeeping missions, our servicemen and women have flown our flag in places far from home, helping those in need. Most recently, when the situation in the Middle East turned dangerous, it was our SAF that helped bring our people home safely.

I'd like to especially thank our National Servicemen, past and present. You have given years of your lives, time away from family and work, so Singapore could grow and prosper in peace. That service and sacrifice is not forgotten.

To every man and woman in SAF, thank you for carrying that responsibility so Singapore could stay safe, and stand tall.
