Congratulations to the U31 Open Team who won gold at the 2026 Asia Pacific Youth Bridge Championships!

Singapore’s U31 Open (under 31) team won the Xiao Jiang Cup at the Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Youth Championships, held in Hainan, China, from 23 to 28 September 2026. The winning team comprises Teo Xue Heng, Ryan Lee, Timothy Wu, Linus Lee, Junyan Yang and Gao Heng.

The team finished first in the round robin before defeating Indonesia 268–163.67 in the final. The victory earned Singapore a berth in the 2027 World Youth Team Championships.

Singapore also performed well in two other events. The U26 Women’s team, comprising Jeanne Yeo, Ang Ke Xin, Gao Tianlu, Jenell Lim, Beverly Seah and Steffi Anna Lim, finished fourth. The U26 Open team, comprising Xu Nuoyi, Li Ruiqi, Victor Loh, Wang Yingqi, Ai Yucheng and Goh Zhijie, also finished fourth. Like the U31 Open team, both teams also earned berths in next year’s World Youth Team Championships.

This was also the first time Singapore fielded a team in all five championship categories: U16 Open, U21 Open, U26 Women, U26 Open and U31 Open. Singapore’s inaugural U16 entry is a milestone for youth Bridge. In the past, many players first encountered the sport at pre-university level, around age 17. The U16 team shows that secondary school students can begin learning Bridge earlier, developing their reasoning, communication and teamwork through a structured mind sport.

A reminder that the Singapore Open Teams 2026 will be held across two weekends in September.

The Small Federation Open Teams selection will be based on results from the Singapore Open Teams 2026. If necessary, results from Pesta Sukan Open Teams will be used instead.

Circular 1 for the 9th SEABF Championships & 42nd ASEAN Bridge Club Championships has been released.

Key Details:
• SEABF Championships: For citizens of South East Asian countries representing their respective NBOs
• ASEAN Championships: Open to all players
• Events include Mixed Teams, Open Pairs, and Open/Ladies/Senior/Youth Teams
• Youth Teams (U26) entry fee: USD150, free for the first two teams from each NBO
• Victory Dinner & Prize-Giving: 11 December, 7:00pm–9:00pm

The venue is near Chinatown and directly opposite Merdeka 118, with public transport access via Merdeka MRT station.

Greetings,

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for year 2026 was originally scheduled for 28 September 2026. However, China announced their dates for the APBF Youth Championships to be on 22-29 September, overlapping with our initial AGM date. As a significant amount of our player base is involved in this event, we are proposing the AGM to instead be held on 26 October 2026, 7pm.

We have selected this date in consideration of the athletes preparing and playing in the FISU World University Championships (Mindsports) which will be held from 12 to 16 October.

As per our constitution, you may write to [email protected] if you object to the postponement. We will move forward with the AGM on 28 September if more than 1/3 of our members write in objections within seven days. Otherwise, the AGM will be held on the proposed date of 26 October.

NPO Ofuna Bridge Center has invited overseas players to participate in the 21st Kanagawa Governor’s Cup Bridge Tournament.

The event will be played in a Swiss Teams format with four flights:
• Flight A – Open Team
• Flight B – Advanced Team
• Flight C – Intermediate Team
• Flight D – Novice Team

International teams travelling from overseas may participate free of charge. Mixed teams with domestic and international members are also free if at least 4 players are from overseas.

The organisers are also happy to assist with hotel arrangements for visiting teams.

SCBA is urgently seeking potential replacement players for the upcoming APBF Youth Championships, specifically for the following categories:

📌 SCBA Membership Renewal for AGM Voting
Members who wish to vote in the upcoming AGM are required to renew their SCBA membership by 15 August 2026.

This is an extension of the original renewal deadline of 31 July 2026, to give the local bridge community ample time to be involved and ensure voting eligibility is updated ahead of the AGM.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the Pesta Sukan 2026 Bridge Events over the weekend!

We are grateful to all local and overseas players for your participation, sportsmanship, and support throughout the competition. Your presence helped make this year’s Pesta Sukan a lively and memorable weekend of bridge.
