One year ago today, my executive and I made the decision to vote for Mr. Babadi Kamara as President of the Sierra Leone Football Association in Lungi.

Today, one year later, I am proud of that decision after witnessing the remarkable progress and development he has brought to Sierra Leone football in just one year.
Congratulations, Mr. President. You have made us proud, and many people are now acknowledging that we made the right choice in electing you as President of the Sierra Leone Football Association.

Wishing you continued success as you work to take Sierra Leone football to even greater heights.

There was a moment when hope seemed lost. We were disappointed, heartbroken, and faced countless storms surrounding our beloved Diamond Stars. But we refused to give up. We stood together, fought until the very end, and said NO to relegation.

Today, we celebrate survival. This achievement belongs to everyone who believed, supported, and never stopped standing with the club. We owe the people of Kono the joy of seeing their team rise again, and we remain committed to bringing back the pride they deserve.

Above all, we give God all the glory. The journey continues.

KDFA SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES YOUTH LEAGUES AND DIVISION TWO PROMOTIONAL LEAGUE

Following the football ecosystem and competition calendar introduced by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), the Kono District Football Association (KDFA) has successfully concluded its U-12, U-14, U-15, U-17 Youth Leagues and the 2026 Division Two National Promotional League.

*For the past three months, the KDFA has been fully engaged in organizing these competitions, reaffirming its commitment to grassroots football development in Kono District.*

Speaking at the closing ceremony, KDFA Executive Chairman Abubakarr Mansaray congratulated all the champions and participating teams for their dedication and sportsmanship throughout the competitions. He also expressed appreciation to the Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA), the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), President Babadi Kamara, and the SLFA Executive Committee for providing a structured football ecosystem and calendar that continues to strengthen football development across the country.

*“Today, we are proud to have a President who is determined, development-oriented, and focused on transforming football in Sierra Leone,” Chairman Mansaray stated.*

He concluded by encouraging young footballers to remain disciplined, committed, and focused on their dreams, assuring them that with hard work and determination, they can achieve success in the sport.

*The ceremony was attended by KDFA Vice Chairman Tamba Ngaujah, Secretary General Komba Kelvin Kembay, Deputy Secretary General Tamba Komba, Head of Competitions Osman Junisa, Chairman of Youth Football Ishmael Turay, Youth Coordinator Musa Fanday, SLFA Appeal Committee Member Councillor David Kai Bona, and several other football stakeholders.*

The event climaxed with the presentation of gold medals and championship trophies to the winners of the various categories:

🏆 *U-17 Champions: Grace Kay Academy*

The successful completion of these competitions marks another significant milestone in KDFA’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting football development throughout Kono District.
