Oak St. facility is my polling place. Will it be open on March 17th?
I wish the Links and Tees website reflected their actual hours today. We arrived just before 1pm only to find out that the dome was closing at 1pm instead of 3pm as stated on your website. It seems odd to have a specific line item on your website for New Years Eve hours and have it be incorrect. Had 3 very sad boys who were excited to try out their new golf clubs and a less than sympathetic worker who couldn't have cared less about the inaccuracy or the disappointment.
There used to be 5 or 6 garbage cans in Cherokee Park last year. Now there are 2. Can we get more?
Hi. When will the spring group classes be posted?
Disgusted over hearing that your judges aren't requiring people to show an ID to vote, and letting people vote for their family members without showing proper documentation. FYI it's illegal to let people vote more than once!!! It will be reported!!
Had some wet fun this morning - thanks APD for keeping the splash pad going .
Very disappointed to hear the high school basketball league was canceled due to lack of participation. Would have been a great thing for the boys. If you try this again next year you need to publicize more at the high school. High school boys don’t read the park district catalog. It wasn’t even on your page. Or work with rec club to publicize. Plenty families have kids both rec club and high school aged. Or put it on the Addison Trail Twitter feed. Use social media.
When are you going to post info on next weeks dance competition....Addison Shamrock Invitational?
Anyone in the town of Addison keep your eye out for this bike it was stolen from my driveway today, belongs to my brother who's 20 years old and special needs and was given to him by the Wildfire Harley-Davidson as a gift because he works there and he literally rides the bike everyday. I've lived in Addison for 15 years I've never had a single thing stolen from our house so this is very upsetting and really bothers me. If anyone has seen or see somebody on this bike please contact me via messenger.

A: The most common invasive species found in Addison Parks is the Common Buckthorn. "Management of this intruder is challenging due to very high rate seed germination, and an invasive plant in Illinois and should not be planted. It forms dense thickets and reproduces very freely, crowding out other plants and disrupting ecosystems in forest preserves and other natural areas. In woodlands it can completely replace existing understory plants, including native wildflowers." - The Morton Arboretum ❌🌱🌿

A: Yes. As a result of establishing eco-friendly initiatives, the Addison Park District was awarded an EARTH FLAG from SCARCE, a global leader of environmental initiatives. 🌎💚

A: The parks department has an immediate impact on the community. We keep our Parks clean by picking up trash and emptying trash cans. We keep our playgrounds and athletic fields safe for play. We handle all safety issues that come up with parks and playgrounds. It is important to us that our Parks are a pleasant place for our residents to visit and proudly represent our Parks Department.

A: Two. The wetland the parks monitor is Lake Manor and the Nature Center. 💧

A: There are about 10 different native plants spread throughout the Lake Manor Nature Center.

Wishing you a Hoppy Easter! 🐰🐣💐

It's best to #StayHomeStaySafe, however if you must leave home the state recommends wearing a mask in public areas.

We love open green spaces, and we're so fortunate to have them to return too! This is why we're asking that everyone #StayAtHome.

Today we are thankful for sidewalk chalk inspo. ✨ #StayHomeStaySafe⁣⁣

Why not head out to Byron Park and run around? There's 11.25 acres to keep yourself/kids running around, and burn off that energy. As a reminder, ALL playgrounds, equipment, and courts are closed as ordered by Governor Pritzker. You are still free to visit the parks to stay active, get out of the house, explore your neighborhood or peep springs return! Don't forget to avoid touching surfaces, and wash your hands frequently.

As the weather is getting warmer, and the temptation to leave the house grows. We want to remind you that while our playgrounds and basketball courts are closed, the parks are open. Maintain a 6 feet distance from others, and avoid touching surfaces in the parks!
