That time of year is coming, when our fairways are varying hues of green, tan and brown. Winter play at Corica Park embraces nature’s palette and shows that letting the turf go brown complements exceptional playability and environmental sustainability.

Team Community Spotlight - Jacob Hord

We’re excited to feature Jacob Hord, our Assistant General Manager at Corica Park. His connection to Alameda goes back to childhood, when he spent time here with his dad and grandparents.

Introduced to golf 11 years ago by his best friend, Jacob has since built a career around the game. After earning his degree in Communications and Media Technology from Academy of Art University , where he was also a member of the university’s baseball team, he began working at TPC Harding Park before finding his way back to Alameda and joining the Corica Park team.

For Jacob, golf is more than a game. It’s an opportunity to build relationships, learn through challenges, and bring people together. He believes a golf course should be a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of their experience with the game.

Outside of work, you can find Jacob building LEGO sets, enjoying a movie at the Alameda Theatre, or spending time with his fiancée, Veronica, and their three pups, Kodak, Bella, and Luna. 🐾

Thank you, Jacob, for being part of our Corica community and helping make it a space for all!

A MILESTONE WORTH CELEBRATING ⛳

We had the honor of welcoming Michael Finneran to Corica Park as he celebrated his 1,000th course milestone, marking an extraordinary golf journey that began at age 11 and has taken him around the world.

At 78, Michael embodies a lifetime of passion, dedication, and perseverance. As a Deaf golfer and President of the U.S. Deaf Golf Association, he’s also helping grow the game and create greater access and inclusion for Deaf golfers everywhere. 💚

What touched us most was seeing 15 friends come together with such genuine excitement and love to share his special day. It was a beautiful reminder that golf is about so much more than the game. It’s about friendship, connection, and belonging.

Michael R. Finneran We’re honored to be part of your story!
