Volunteers Needed! Join us for a Community Litter Cleanup at City Lake Park on Saturday, September 26 as we celebrate National Public Lands Day. Bring your friends, family, and community spirit as we work together to keep Albemarle beautiful.

📍City Lake Park, 815 Concord Rd | ⏰ Starts at 8:30 AM

Event Schedule:

• 8:30–8:45 AM: Check-In & Welcome
• 8:45–9:00 AM: Safety Briefing & Group Photo
• 9:00–10:45 AM: Litter Sweep
• 10:45–11:00 AM: Wrap-Up

Trash bags, gloves, and safety guidance will be provided. Please bring closed-toe shoes, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and your best community spirit.

This family-friendly event is open to all ages. Come out, meet your neighbors, and make a difference!

🏀 YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION IS COMING! 🏀

Get your young athletes ready for an exciting season on the court! Registration for our Youth Basketball Program opens Monday, September 28, and runs through Friday, October 30.

📅Season: December–February
Grades: Kindergarten through 8th Grade

💰 Registration Fees

Residents: $75

Non-Residents: $95

🏀 DIVISIONS

K2 Coed: Kindergarten–2nd Grade

BOYS

Division 1: 3rd & 4th Grade

Division 2: 5th & 6th Grade

Division 3: 7th & 8th Grade

📢 Important: 6th graders who are on a middle school basketball team must play up in Division 3.

GIRLS

Division 1: 3rd–5th Grade

Division 2: 6th–8th Grade

🥎 ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUE — 18 & UP! 🥎

Ready to get back on the field? We’re gearing up for an exciting Adult Softball Season with both Men’s and Coed Leagues!

⚾ League Rules:
Games will be played under World Softball League (WSL) rules.

📅 Season Begins: Mid-September
🌙 Game Nights: Monday(Men), Tuesday(Coed) & Thursday(Men and Coed) evenings
🏆 Tournament: Double-elimination tournament at the end of the regular season

💰 Team Registration: $375
💵 Deposit: $100 non-refundable deposit due at registration

🏕️🌊 Summer may be officially over, but we couldn’t let the season pass without sharing some memories from our camping and whitewater trip to Nantahala!

This trip is always one of our staff’s favorite adventures, and this year was no exception! From camping under the stars, to taking on the rapids, it was a trip filled with excitement, laughter, and plenty of memories that we hope the kids will carry with them long after summer is over. 🌲🛶

We want to give a huge thank you to all of the parents who trusted us with their kids and allowed them to be part of our Outdoor Challenge Program this summer. We truly appreciate your support and the opportunity to spend the summer creating these experiences with your kids!

Now that the backpacks are packed and the school year is underway, we hope everyone has an amazing and successful school year! 📚✏️

We’ll see you all again next summer with another fun-packed schedule full of adventure, exploration, and new memories! ☀️🏕️🌊
