Open gyms will be held on August 24 & 26. A skills assessment is September 1.

Bingo! Love to play? Adults age 50+ are invited to play free bingo games Thursdays from Noon - 1 p.m. at the Niven Center located at 1816-A E Main St, Albemarle.

Bring a small prize to donate if you’d like. No preregistration required. Just show up and join the fun!

As we continue celebrating Parks and Recreation Month, we're highlighting Don Montgomery and Optimist Parks. Located at the intersection of US Highway 52 and Efird Street, these parks feature a full-size lighted baseball field as well as youth-size field.

Don Montgomery Park is home to Albemarle's Uwharrie Wampus Cats baseball team, a summer wood‑bat team showcasing top local and regional college players honing their skills.

Optimist Park is the historic site of Albemarle’s American Legion Junior World Series Championship, won in 1940. A mural by local artists Jack and Eli Williams commemorates the victory, and a stone monument also celebrates this achievement.

A portion of the Roger F. Snyder Greenway runs through the parks. The path is paved, mostly flat, and partially lighted for walking, running, and biking.
