[02/19/20]   Last day for Adult Women's and Co-Ed Volleyball Sign-ups are Friday, February 21. Team cost is $225 per team. $50 deposit at time of registration. Minors will be ages 9-10. Ozone will be ages 11-12 (must not turn 13 years old before May 1)
Cost of Minors and Ozone will be $65 for city residents and $90 for non-residents.

Widespread Power Outages across the city.

The City of Albemarle electric service area is experiencing approximately 4700 power outages. We have city line crews working and three contracted crews onsite or in route to assist. At this time, we do not have an estimated time that power will be fully restored. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The Legacy Motown Revue Concert at The Albemarle Neighborhood Theatre is SOLD OUT!!!!

We will see everyone with tickets tomorrow night. Doors open at 6:00 pm, Concert starts at 7:00 pm.

[02/06/20]   Adult Mens Basketball at AMS, Little Hornets games at EEWC, and Junior Hornets practices at Stanly Academy have been cancelled for Thursday, February 6.

Looking for something for your kids to do during Spring Break??? While the kids are out for Spring Break we will be having a couple of things going on that might peak your interest!!

**NC ZOO TRIP**
Tuesday, April 14 we will be taking a trip to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. This trip is for ages 7-15 and is limited to 18 children.

The cost of this trip will be $25 for city-residents and $35 for non-residents. A t-shirt will be included in the registration fee. The deadline to register for this trip will be March 27.

**MINI YOUNG EXPLORERS**
April 15-16 we will be having a Mini Young Explorers class. Classes will be from 8a-12p both days. During these two days, we will be at Rock Creek Park, City Lake Park, and Morrow Mountain State Park. This program will demonstrate some of the activities we do during the Summer Young Explorers classes.

The cost will be $25 for city-residents and $35 for non-residents. This class is for kids ages 7-9 and is limited to 15 children. The deadline to register for this class will be April 3.

First round of the Girls Volleyball Tournament last night with the Locust Strikers defeating the Albemarle Crushers and the Albemarle Hurricanes saving a match point and defeating the Albemarle Extreme. Semi's and Final are at Locust Elementary School on Thursday beginning at 6pm.

Chuck Morehead Park Tennis Courts will be closed on Thursday, November 14th for maintenance work.

It's a new week , well mid week but We are gonna try things a little different this weekend.. we are not taking the truck to a Haunted Attraction... We are taking the Truck to the Town of Albemarle NC.. Its a two day event.. Friday Oct. 25 The Creeper Truck will be leading a 5K run called the Jeepers Creepers Run.. I will lead the event.. Dressed as the Creepers Cousin.. Yes I will be driving the truck dressed in full Creeper Suit!!! After the truck will be parked in front of an old restored Movie Theater.. and guess what's playing!?!?Jeepers Creepers!! Lol I will be speaking about the truck and which movie scenes The truck will be in.. And Saturday the Truck will be on display in the Downtown Area for a Street Festival... So bring your cameras and cell phones.. BEATNGU truck license plates will be there for sale.. The truck will be on display from 12 noon till 6pm.... Hope to see You there!!!

Autumn Extravaganza | Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation

Tonight is the first night of the Inaugural Downtown Albemarle Autumn Extravaganza.

Join us Tonight for trick or treating at downtown businesses, costume parade, and costume contest.

Friday night sign up for Ghost Tours at the History Center, participate in the Jeepers Creepers 5K, and enjoy Jeepers Creepers the movie at the Central Auditorium.

Saturday will be filled with the Farmer's Market and Craft Fair, a street festival on 2nd St with vendors, food, entertainment, children's crafts, chainsaw artist demonstration and much more.

The event will wrap up on Saturday evening at 6:00 pm with a band and food vendors at Market Station.
