For nearly 40 years, the work of Los Angeles poet Henri Coulette was effectively lost due to an error at a warehouse. But sometimes, all it takes is the right spotlight to change the course of a legacy.

In a recent piece for The Orange County Register, Books Editor Erik Pedersen writes about author Boris Dralyuk and how an old article by Erik played a role in keeping the conversation about Coulette alive — ultimately helping in the effort to bring his poetry back into print.

This is more than just a story about a book; it’s a testament to the power of local journalism to preserve stories that may have otherwise been lost to time.
