Channel 5 News visits Lawrence University as we celebrate an extraordinary achievement by LU Fencers Reya Farlam and Zaky Obeid! (Here's a sneak peek- stay tuned for the full story)
This summer, Reya, who fencers for Great Britain, and Zaky Obeid, who fencers for Lebanon, will represent their respective countries at the Senior World Championships, held July 26β30. In fencing, this is the highest level of international competition and one of the sport's greatest honors.
Just as athletes dream of competing on the biggest stages in basketball, football, or track and field, fencers dream of earning a place on their national team and competing at the World Championships.
Lawrence University is proud to have two student-athletes selected to represent their countries on the world stage.
