Sleep

As the summer starts, it is easy to ditch your school sleep schedule and just stay up as late as possible each night. However, if you are trying you reach your goals as an athlete then getting enough sleep needs to be at the top of your list! If you aren’t getting enough sleep it will have a negative impact on your performance. Here are two great strategies to fix your sleep schedule.

1.) Put Your Phone Away
This is the most important on the list and the hardest to do. It’s easy to get trapped scrolling on your phone late at night and the next thing you know it’s an hour after you wanted to go to bed. As you prepare for bed making sure your phone is in place that can wake you up if you need an alarm, but far enough away that you don’t feel tempted to check it every instance it goes off. Putting your phone away will be an enormous help in making sure that you fall asleep on time.

2.) Always Sticking To Your Schedule
Yes, this means sticking to your sleep schedule on the weekends as well. If you truly want to fix your sleep schedule, you need to be consistent about it. Going to sleep at a good time 5 days a week when you have workouts in the morning means nothing if you are up until 2 in the morning on the weekends. All the hard work you do to fix it will be wiped away in 2 days.

If you are not getting enough sleep, it is going to stunt your development, and you are going to feel lazy all day because of it. Instead, make sure you get enough sleep so you can be 100% during your workout, as well as everything else you have in your day!

Did You Know?

The effects of strength training does far more that just increasing athletic success.
