Moving Studios: Creative Dance for Children

This is a political opinion I can get behind

real quick.....snow dances this week were great fun. I lay out a giant piece of white fabric---kind of like a parachute ....for snow. We sat at the edges of the fabric to do a seated warm-up.

Then we stood and held the edges of the parachute and sang a snow song .....walking to the right, then left, moving the fabric up and down .

Finally we threw the "snow" up in the air and all the children ran to get under it or hold on to it. I know it sounds chaotic . We only did it once.

No childrenn were hurt! They just loved it. But I did put the parachute away and quickly distracted them with small white scarves to dance with.

Seriously....try it.

Snow dances today with children. (Looks like it may snow here for real.)

We danced to snow music holding white scarves (and, yes, music from Frozen is still very popular).

We jumped over a pile of white scarves.

And we sang It's snowing, It's snowing . Video to follow.
