The list of winning RTTC teams just keeps growing! Huge congratulations to Captain Liz Cox for guiding her River Trails 6.5 Combo Women’s team to a Chicago District Championship title. They’re now headed to the State Playoffs, where they’ll compete for a Sectionals spot against other top teams from Illinois. What an incredible achievement! The USTA Chicago District Playoffs for 7.5 Mixed had just one champion—the River Trails team! After winning both of their matches, the RTTC squad wrapped up a strong year in this tough, competitive division and is now headed to Sectionals in Kohler, WI, this March. The 40+ 4.5 RTTC squad made an impressive run at Nationals for the 2025 USTA competition year. Hosted in San Diego, CA, the event brought together 17 teams, each a champion from its USTA section. After clinching victory at the Midwest Sectionals playoffs, the River Trails crew, led by captain Jeremy Tranter, placed 5th with a 3-1 record, just missing a shot at the top playoff bracket. The 40+ 4.5 Men RTTC team, led by captain Jeremy Tranter, emerged victorious at the MIDWEST Sectionals held this past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana. The RTTC team faced formidable competition from teams representing Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, they went undefeated in their three matches, securing their place in the National Championship, which will be held in October in San Diego, California. Please join in congratulating them on this impressive achievement and wishing them the best of luck at Nationals.

Manny Velasco (Head Pro) and Adrian Ciuca (General Manager) represented River Trails Tennis Center at the USTA Awards Ceremony on Tuesday at the Chase Indoor Center, located on the grounds of the US OPEN. They proudly received the award for 2025 Outstanding Facility of the Year. Todd Carlson, USTA Director of Tennis Venue Services, is also pictured with the River Trails Tennis Center representatives.

The River Trails Tennis Center, situated at 2831 Malmo Dr in Arlington Heights, has received the prestigious 2025 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Outstanding Facility Award, acknowledging it as one of the nation’s top tennis venues.

The USTA Outstanding Facility Awards program recognizes facilities that demonstrate excellence in construction, renovation, and ongoing maintenance, as well as a strong commitment to fostering tennis growth and development within their communities.

Since its establishment in 1981, the USTA Outstanding Facility Awards have honored tennis venues that set high standards for quality and service, creating a positive and engaging experience for players and spectators. The River Trails Tennis Center now joins an elite group of facilities nationwide to achieve this notable distinction.

As part of this honor, the USTA will provide an indoor award plaque and an outdoor sign for display at the facility. Furthermore, two representatives from the River Trails Tennis Center will be invited to attend the official awards ceremony during the US Open in August.

We are thrilled to announce that the River Trails Tennis Center Open Doubles team were finalists at the 2025 CITA Championships finals held last weekend at CPAC. It has been an incredible year for our Open Men team, who entered the playoffs as the top seed #1.

Their impressive journey included receiving a bye in the Semifinals, and in the finals, the team faced off against North Shore. It was a match to remember, with our team giving the winners a tough competition and keeping it very close across all four courts in the doubles format.

We are immensely proud of our club members who represented us so well: Scott Robinson, Doug Weber, Jean-Michel Dos Remedios, Andrew Wolfberg, Vuk Budic, Capt. Jeremy Tranter, Alex Stankov, and Jason Strongin. Their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship are truly commendable.

River Trails Tennis Center collected more hardware this past weekend. In a finals-packed day at CPAC, Team RTTC 4.5 Men doubles made it 3 for 3 for the day, following the victories of the 3.5 and 4.0 RT teams in their respective divisions. After a long and tough season, Team RT 4.5 Men Doubles entered the playoffs as the top seed and delivered strong performances. Playing 4 courts all doubles, RT swept all 4 in the semifinals against Lake Bluff, and then clinched the Championship title by winning 3 courts against North Shore.

These players showcased exceptional skills, determination, and teamwork throughout the season, leading to their well-deserved victory. It is also worth mentioning the dedication and effort of the coaching staff and supportive club members who played a vital role in the team's success. The victories achieved by our teams underscore the strength and commitment that each player brings to the court.
