Is two days a week really enough?

It's a question we hear all the time.

It's all about what you can consistently do, and what you do with those sessions.

Two days a week.
A plan built around you.
Progressive strength training.
And enough consistency to let it all add up.

Over time, the weights get heavier. You get stronger. And you start seeing the difference.

You just have to keep showing up.

Sometimes progress means changing the plan.

After dealing with a partially torn rotator cuff, she stepped away from OTA for a few weeks and tried physical therapy.

But she knew one thing about herself: working out at home on her own wasn't going to happen.

So she came back.

Coach Rob adjusted her programming around her shoulder and continued working with her as it improved.

Then recently, she had a realization:

**"I'm at 100% on it."**

That's why individualized coaching matters.

The goal is to build the program around the person standing in front of us.

We're big believers that progress isn't built by crushing yourself for a few weeks. It's built by following a plan that fits your life and sticking with it long enough for it to matter.

Swipe through to celebrate the OTA members who hit 80% or more of their prescribed exercise sessions in July.

Different percentages. Different people. Different training plans.

But the thing they all have in common? They kept showing up.

Great work, everyone. Let's keep building. đź’Ş

Anyone can write a workout.

Coaching is something different.

It's knowing when to push.
Knowing when to pull back.
And knowing how to adjust when life throws you a curveball.

When Emily came in after suffering an ankle injury, Coach Rob modified the session so she could continue making progress instead of sitting on the sidelines.

That's the difference between following a program and having a coach.

Picture yourself at 70 or 80... traveling, moving under your own power, and keeping up with your grandkids instead of watching from the sidelines.

That picture tends to matter more than any short-term aesthetic goal.

The “marginal decade” is the final decade of your life, whenever it occurs. It’s the period when physical capacity can have the greatest influence on how independently and fully you experience life.

The work you do now helps shape what that decade can look like.

We’re not training only for today’s workout. We’re building strength, capacity, and freedom for the life still ahead.

Congrats to Leslie Johnson reaching her 100th session milestone.

"Leslie is one of the hardest workers (in the gym and in her career) that I have ever witnessed. She's an incredible human with the cutest lil midwestern accent. Leslie, it has been a pleasure being your coach and to be here with you through this crazy thing called life! So proud of you!"

We don’t organize training around making one muscle sore.

We train the patterns your body uses in real life: pushing, pulling, squatting, hinging, bracing, resisting rotation, and moving with control.

Why?

Because your body doesn’t experience life one isolated muscle at a time. Training complete movement patterns helps build useful strength while supporting mobility, joint health, and long-term progress.

Personalized training isn’t a copy-and-paste workout with your name at the top.

It means looking at the person in front of you:

- How do they move right now?
- What limitations need to be addressed?
- What do they want their body to help them do?
- What volume and intensity can they actually recover from?

Sometimes personalization means temporarily taking an exercise off the table, choosing a different variation, or changing the tempo. The goal is to meet them where they are and build from there.

That’s how training becomes something you can stay consistent with, not something you have to survive.

100 sessions for Christine! đź’Ż

Christine started as a one-on-one client and has since graduated into group training. She may not walk in excited for every workout—but she keeps showing up anyway.

She trains with intention, works hard, and cares about doing things well. That consistency is exactly what the long game looks like.

We’re proud of you, Christine. Keep going! 👏

Strength isn’t always the first step.

Before we add more load, we want to know that you can move through the range of motion you need, control your body there, and perform the movement well.

At OTA, we think about the progression like this:

1. Mobility
2. Stability
3. Movement
4. Strength

Skipping straight to heavier weight can feel productive, but building the right foundation is what helps training hold up over time.
