It's the Gran Fondo this weekend! We'll be at the Bike Expo on Saturday, and providing mechanical support on Sunday. Erich will be at the start for any early morning pre-ride concerns, and then at Rest Stop #2 in Marshall, along with snacks and hydrations for the 100 mile riders.

Hey Dirt Skrrters and community riders! Erich will be at Appalachian Mountain Brewery after your ride tomorrow, starting at 12:30 pm! Let him work on your bike 🚲 while you celebrate 5 years of riding with Dirt Skrrts! Happy anniversary ladies🎈!

Where can you meet the cutest puppy this week? We’ll be at the West Asheville Tailgate Market on Tuesday 7/7, and posting up at Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Mills River Wednesday 7/8 from 2-6 pm!

Day 20- Mesa Verde, CO. Canyon wrens and ravens circled around us, while we explored the mesa tops and cliffs of this area, inhabited by the Ancestral Pueblo people 700+ years ago. We toured the Cliff Palace, checked out lots of dwelling ruins, with the best park ranger tour guide, Susanna. In addition to being a ranger, she is also a professional flauist. The duet played along the cliffs gave me chills.
We also had the most interesting hike of the trip along the Petroglyph Point Loop- rock scrambling, squeezing thru narrow passages, and using ancient foot holds.

Day 18- Now the rocks are getting ridiculous. We drove through some of the Navajo reservation, Monument Valley, and wild camped near Arches NP. Even getting up at dawn still got us hiking in the heat. Our Japanese umbrellas were a big help- I felt both smart with my black shaded parasol ☂️, and decidedly non-hiker-like.
After stopping for some a/c time at Moab Brewery (thanks for letting us hang Alex!), we passed the Newspaper Rock Petroglyphs within Bear Ears National Monument to get to our campground in the Canyonlands NP-Needles District.
We climbed to the top of the rocks surrounding our site, and watched the new moon set and the Milky Way appear, along with the stars.
