Today, I’m remembering Jake Roarke Morrison and honoring the love his parents, Keri and Roarke, continue to pour into his legacy.
Keri has been an incredible pillar for so many families and ISR instructors. Through the Live Like Jake Foundation, she and Roarke have transformed unimaginable grief into action—raising awareness, supporting families affected by drowning, and helping children access ISR lessons through scholarships so more families can learn important water safety skills.
Drowning can happen to anyone, anywhere there’s access to water. We prepare for so many things we hope will never happen. Why should drowning prevention be any different? Drowning is preventable, and layers of protection—including close supervision, barriers, and water safety skills—matter.
Jake, you are remembered and loved. Thank you, Keri and Roarke, for carrying his light forward and helping protect other families.
Today, we honor Jake Roarke Morrison, the little boy whose parents, Keri and Roarke, started the Live Like Jake Foundation in his memory.
After losing Jake to drowning, Keri and Roarke began working to help prevent other families from experiencing the same loss. Their love for their son continues through drowning prevention education, ISR lesson scholarships, and support for families affected by drowning.
The Together for Our Angels dinner is another part of that work. As parents who know this loss, Keri and Roarke understand how much it means to spend time with other families, talk about their children, and remember them together.
Thank you to the Atkins Family for sponsoring the dinner and to every family who shared their child with us.
Jake, you are the reason behind it all.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
