You don’t have to speak Tagalog, eat balut, or live in the Philippines to be Filipino. You don’t have to be born there, have a Filipino last name or accent, look Filipino, or know every Filipino tradition.
Filipino identity can be expressed in many ways. Whether your Filipino roots come through a parent, grandparent, ancestor, or family heritage, that connection is part of your story.
