This beautiful, and well used came in for a new recoil pad. The old one was rough and starting to leave parts of itself about. When it was dropped off we noticed that the rib on the left was loose for over 6" and the right rib had a few unconnected spots to boot. So we ground the new pad and then set out to very carefully relay the ribs without ruining any of the blued finish (client really didn't want to have it refinished after a bad experience in the past with someone else.) We also needed to be sure not to change point of impact in relationship to point of aim as its this clients favorite clays gun. With some thought, practice on scrap barrels, and a little effort, we pulled it off.

Been hectic here the last few months! Have projects off to engravers, micro precision laser welder, etc. but here's a small project we completed. This beautiful shotgun was taken to an inexperienced smith for a detailed cleaning. The smith unfortunately let a washer fall off the through bolt in the stock. This ment that every time the gun moved, the washer rattled in the stock. We drilled out the old plug, turned a new one, with attention to the grain. Fit it and repolished and blued the screw that had been buggered. Then checkerd and sealed the plug to blend. It received a proper cleaning while here just to be certain that everything was in shape.

Ran down to yesterday for the opening day of blade show 2025. Lots of geat stuff and some truly amazing new artisans represented as well as names already associated with quality like . Plenty of top quality production names like as well. Everyone was polite and the selection was amazing. If you can get by today or tomorrow, I'd highly recommend!

When any best grade gun, like this, , comes in for consignment, the first thing we do is check EVERYTHING out. We measure barrel wall thickness, choke constriction, cast, LOP, drop, pitch, etc. We inspect the locks, make sure the barrels are tight on face, etc. Then we get into our reference material as people genuinely interested in using a best gun want to know everything they can about it. After that it's out to the range to be 100% sure everything is timed and fit for purpose.

Auction catalogs in the mail mean it's time for research! We just got this one from .springer.auctions for their May 15th auction. It's got some beautiful and interesting pieces in it. As always, we are happy to consult if you are interested in bidding but have questions.

Quick tip for those who have a case and need new foam....because your old foam was cut out by a squirrel(pictures 2&3), just old and broken down, or you changed configurations. An electric filet knife is your friend. Cheap at any big box store and works wonders. In most cases (see what I did there), I prefer 2.2lb density polyethylene foam around the firearm and a good, thick layer of polyurethane foam on top and bottom. And if it's something you'd rather not tackle yourself, we're here to help.

A beautiful 870 competition 12 ga with 30" tube and very little sign of use. The 870 is arguably one of the top pump shotguns ever produced!
