We may be rivals on the pitch, but outside of the stadium we're all fans of the beautiful game. That's why The Backline and The Gulch are coming together again to make the world just a little bit better. In April, we cleaned up the Westside Beltline in Atlanta. Now we're cleaning up the Benton/Geodis Park area in Nashville. Join us for this joint volunteer project on Saturday, July 18 beginning at 10:00am (Central). Be sure to bring sunscreen and water, but all other supplies are provided. Help us make a difference and show why soccer fans are the best fans. After 8 long weeks, Atlanta United is FINALLY back in action! We're heading north to take on Nashville SC on Friday, July 17 and we're welcoming you to town with a pre-match tailgate! If you're making the trip, be sure to stop by and join us for what is always a great time with great friends. The tailgate will get started at around 3:00pm (Central) and will end with a Chant Circle at 5:30pm (Central). There will be an Atlanta United Supporters March through Fair Park to the stadium at 5:45pm (Central). Come out and join us for our first road win of the year!

PLEASE BE AWARE - Tailgate attendees are responsible for removing their own trash. There are no bins or dumpsters on site - you must take out anything you bring in. Restroom facilities are not available in the Atlanta United tailgate lot. Restrooms are across the street in Fair Park where Nashville SC's Backline Supporters Collective hosts their tailgate. Don't worry, they're very nice!

Trans athletes are athletes who deserve the right to play the sports that bring them joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging. They put in the same hard work, dedication, and passion as any other athlete, and it's time we recognize and respect their efforts. We stand in solidarity with trans athletes and the fans who support them across the country, from local community leagues to professional teams.

If you'd like to join us in showing your support for trans athletes and promoting a more inclusive and accepting environment in sports, consider purchasing our "Let Trans Kids Play!" scarf. A $5 donation is made to Advocates 4 Trans Equality for each scarf purchased.

Today we pause and celebrate Juneteenth Freedom Day. A cornerstone of the Juneteenth celebration is education, so we would like to share the history and meaning of this holiday.

The holiday is a celebration and remembrance of June 19, 1865, when the final enforcement order of the Emancipation Proclamation was given in Texas. Despite the Emancipation Proclamation going into effect 900 days earlier and the final surrender of the Confederacy taking place 71 days earlier, rural Texas did not free enslaved Africans until this final order. While it was not declared a federal holiday until 2021, Juneteenth Freedom Day has been celebrated since 1866. Because Black Americans were still prohibited from many public spaces, these celebrations often took place at churches. Since the 1970's, these celebrations have become larger and more common across the country.

With 19 events across the state, you're bound to be close to a Pride Festival in Georgia this year. Visibility is important. Showing folks that they're not alone, that we exist, and that we live right by them can make all the difference. So take the opportunity to get out, meet the local LGBTQ+ communities across Georgia, and show we're not afraid and we're not backing down!
