August in Birdland was chaos, grit, and a whole lot of fight.
The Orioles spent most of the month hovering around .500, but the final week flipped the vibe completely. Baltimore closed August with a three‑game sweep of the A’s, pulling themselves to 68–69 and just ONE game out of the Wild Card. Cowser stayed hot, Taveras came up clutch, and the offense finally woke up when it mattered.

Then September hit… and the chaos got LOUD.

Colton Cowser robbed the Rockies of a walkoff — a 425‑foot blast snatched right out of the sky. Statcast confirmed it:
Longest game‑ending robbery of a walkoff HR in the Statcast era.
Birdland didn’t just win — they stole one in Denver.

The Orioles enter September with momentum, swagger, and a real shot at making noise down the stretch.

The Orioles just took the first two from Tampa and we’re officially ONE GAME OUT of the Wild Card. This team refuses to quit. The fight, the energy, the chaos — it’s all hitting at the perfect time.

August has been a roller coaster for the Orioles, and losing Adley Rutschman is the biggest gut punch of the month. He’s the heartbeat of the lineup and the clubhouse, so his absence changes everything.

What’s still going right

• Coby Mayo is stepping up with big-time power.
• Gunnar Henderson continues to be the engine at the top of the order.
• Westburg and Mountcastle are keeping the offense afloat.
• The rotation — especially Grayson and Bradish — is grinding through tough games.

What Adley’s absence means

• The lineup loses its most consistent bat.
• Pitchers lose their best game-caller and framer.
• Leadership takes a hit — he’s the emotional anchor.
• Every game becomes a “who steps up now?” situation.

The vibe in Birdland

It’s tense, but not defeated.
Fans know this team has depth, swagger, and fight.
