While racing is one of my biggest passions, there's more to me than just what's under the helmet. I'm a homeschool kid who works hard in my academics, loves spending time with my family, and always tries my best to treat others with kindness & respect.
One thing I've learned through racing is that success isn't just about winning races.. it's about having a good attitude, working hard, learning from mistakes, and never giving up when things don't go your way.

THE WAIT IS OVER...
WE HAVE A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! 🌟

JACOB IS MOVING UP TO CHAMP CARS!! 🔥🏁🔥
But that's not even the best part...
For the past few days, we've been keeping a pretty big secret and limiting what Jacob could see on Facebook because we wanted this surprise to be perfect!
Months ago, when we first started this racing journey, we stopped into Lane Automotive. It was shortly after we met Todd Currier, who told us about a specialty built Champ Car he had on display.
We had such an amazing time there getting everything we needed (and then some 😉), and as we were walking out the door, Jacob suddenly called me over.
"Mom! Can you take a picture? That’s Todd’s car!"
He was in awe and said something I'll never forget.. "One day, I'm going to race one of THOSE!"
Little did he know...That exact car would one day be HIS 💙🩵💙
Fast forward to yesterday…
We headed over to Todd's house with Jacob thinking we were simply picking up some tires. When he saw the Champ Car again, his eyes immediately lit up 🤩
After all, Todd had graciously let him take it for a test drive this past Sunday, and Jacob absolutely loved it. Not only that, but he completely blew everyone away with how naturally he handled the car.
Unbeknownst to Jacob, there was much more planned.
Todd asked him to sit in the car again to "check something."
Jacob jumped right in.
A few moments later, Todd stepped away for a second Jacob looked at me and said:
💛 "Mom... this thing fits me PERFECTLY."
When Todd came back, he and Jacob had a little conversation.
Then Todd asked him:
"Would you like to race this car?"
Jacob's face instantly lit up.
And then came the words that changed everything...
🏁 "The car is YOURS" 🏁
For a moment, I don't think it fully registered 😆
You could see the shock.
You could see the excitement.
You could see the disbelief.
And then came that beautiful smile..
A smile that still hasn't left his face 😭💛
By the time we left, reality had finally started to sink in..
The Champ Car he had admired.
The Champ Car he dreamed about.
The Champ Car he had me take pictures of months ago
Was sitting behind us headed home!!
Not only are we unbelievably grateful for this opportunity, but we're also grateful for what it represents.
Sometimes the greatest gift isn't the car itself (which don’t get me wrong, the car is BADASS!)
It's knowing that the people you look up to are noticing your character.
Your determination.
Your sportsmanship.
Your passion.
Your drive... no pun intended 😜
Todd, thank you will never feel like enough.
Thank you for believing in Jacob.
Thank you for investing in the next generation of racers.
Thank you for seeing something special in a kid who simply loves racing with his whole heart.
Jacob, we could not be more proud of you 🥹
Proud of the obstacles you've overcome.
Proud of the racer you're becoming.
Proud of the young man you're becoming.
Always stay true to yourself.
Always stay humble.
Always work hard.
We believe in you.
The people at the track believe in you.
God believes in you.
And most importantly...

As soon as we saw that Cookin' with Beans was going to be at KCC yesterday, we headed there ASAP!!
Between the fun mini taco truck, the gorgeous sizzling Carne Asada tacos, and Tom's hardworking spirit, it was exactly what we needed 😃🧑🏽‍🍳🫘
The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. One bite in and I was in my happy place 😌

Race Day Tradition? I think so! 🏁🍦
After a long Sunday of battling the rain, waiting for the track to dry, and racing at Kalamazoo Speedway, nothing sounded better than a trip to The Zoo Scoop! 😮‍💨✨
One of the coolest things is that they work with the raceway to make sure racers get some awesome deals after race day, which makes it the perfect stop after a day at the track!
We all ordered our ice cream, and of course I got my usual cherry ice cream because it's my favorite🍒❤️… But then... my mom's ice cream showed up.
Let's just say we all spent more time admiring hers than eating our own 🤣
We finished our ice cream, and my dad ended up ordering a milkshake to go too made from Graham Central Station (the magical flavor my mom got) so we could all try it.
It was SO good !!

if you're headed home after a race at Kalamazoo Speedway, definitely swing by. It's not far from the track, and after some of the hot race days we've been having, their ice cream absolutely hits the spot 😌
Oh, and while we're talking about food...
I tried their Romstadt Mac Attack (without bacon because I don't eat pork) and WOW 🤤
Never in my life did I think mac & cheese inside a panini sandwich would be so good, but here we are… I've honestly been thinking about it ever since 😮‍💨😂
Great food, great ice cream, great people.

Yesterday’s Race Day Recap! 🌧️

Yesterday was definitely one for the books!
We spent a good part of the day battling the rain, but that didn't stop everyone from making the best of it. While we waited, we got to watch all of the amazing volunteers at Kalamazoo Speedway work hard to get the track race ready again. It was really cool seeing the different ways they dry the track compared to what we saw at Berlin Speedway earlier this week!
As soon as the track was dry enough, the kids hit the track, and Jacob came out strong by qualifying 2nd place! 🔥
Because of the weather delays, the schedule had to be adjusted, so there wasn't enough time for as many races as originally planned. Jacob got one race in, and unfortunately, things didn't quite go the way he hoped. The track conditions made it difficult for his tires to get the traction they needed, and his car was slipping all over the place 😅
Let's just say his steering wheel was getting quite the workout!
Even though he ended up receiving a black flag, you could clearly see he was doing everything he could to gain control of the car and keep pushing forward. Sometimes racing throws things at you that are completely out of your control..the weather, the track conditions, equipment.. and yesterday was one of those days.
What makes me proud isn't just when Jacob wins.
It's his resilience.
It's his attitude.
It's his ability to walk away from a disappointing race, learn from it, understand what happened, and still have an amazing day while being proud of himself ❤️
And then came the highlight of the day...
A huge thank you to Wedge Innovations for letting Jacob take a test drive in a Champ cart the next step up from the Mini Wedges! 🤯🏁
And WOW...
That kid looked right at home out there.
He was absolutely gliding around the track and did an amazing job! Watching him behind the wheel of what's potentially his next class was such a cool experience for all of us.
After an action packed week that included:
🏁 NASCAR at Michigan International Speedway
🏁 Berlin Raceway
🏁 Getting to see Carson Hocevar again
🏁 And finishing the week with friends and racing at Kalamazoo Speedway
I'd say this was the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable week 🌟

Almost 100 followers! 🏁
Since we're getting close to 100 followers, we thought it would be a great time to do a little "Get to Know Me" post for all of our new followers and maybe even some who've been here from the beginning but don't know much about Jacob’s story!
One thing we've realized since joining the racing community is that so many amazing racing families have generations of racers behind them, which is so awesome!
Jacob's story is a little different 🥴
Racing is brand new to our family. We're all learning together as we go, and honestly, it's become one of the coolest things for us to bond over ❤️
While we may not have generations of racers in our family, we do come from generations of determined, hardworking, passionate, and talented men. The kind of men who, once they set their minds on something they MAKE IT HAPPEN 💪
Jacob comes from a family tree filled with incredible stories. Generations of world famous wood choppers. Generations of hardworking cotton pickers. Family members who became bodybuilders & powerlifters. And some of the men he looks up to most are true heroes who served and fought for our country 🇺🇸
The thing all of these men have in common isn't just strength.. it's character.
They're intelligent. They're hardworking. They're resilient. They're kind. They're the type of men who share their wisdom, help others & teach the next generation how to be good people ✨
Those are the lessons Jacob is most proud to carry with him ❤️
While racing may not run through our family history, determination, wisdom, grit, good humor & a strong spirit certainly do!
And now Jacob gets to add something new to our family's story 🌟
He may be the first racer in our family...
But if his little brother has anything to say about it, he definitely won't be the last 😉🏁
