BWCF is THE CrossFit gym in the Baytown area. We run instructor led classes for all fitness levels.

BayWay CrossFit is one of the most unique and contemporary fitness gyms in the Baytown, Tx area! Because of this we like to start out all new members with a complementary intro session. This is a 60-minute, private one-on-one or small group session that gives you a chance to see our facility, learn a bit about our methods and philosophy, and experience a workout. It's a great way for you to see if BWCF is a good fit for you! We'll also answer all your questions about membership and pricing.

A lot of people think they need to get in shape before they walk into a gym.

That is not true.

You do not need to be ripped.
You do not need to know what you're doing.
You do not need to wait until the "perfect time."

You just need to start.

Technique Tuesday: Knee Sleeves

Knee sleeves can be a great tool, but they are not magic.

They are not knee braces. They are there to help keep your knees warm, add some compression, and make squatting, lunging, wall balls, thrusters, and other knee-heavy movements feel a little better.

One big tip: put them on at the start of the warm-up.
If the goal is warmth and compression, don’t wait until the squats show up to slide them on. Let your knees warm up with them on.

And if you’re new, don’t stress about gear.
You don’t need every piece of equipment to start. Knee sleeves, belts, wrist wraps, shoes, all of that can help, but none of it replaces good movement and good coaching.

The gear helps.
The coaching matters more.
We’ll help you move better, build strength, and take care of your body for the long run.

Most people think the damper on the rower is a “speed setting.”
It’s not.

The damper controls how much air enters the flywheel, which changes how the row feels.

Higher damper = heavier pull
Lower damper = smoother, faster strokes

For most workouts, you don’t need it all the way at 10.
A moderate setting usually helps you move more efficiently, keep better pacing, and save your legs from blowing up early.

Think of it like gears on a bike:
Heavy isn’t always better. Efficient wins.

That’s like saying you need to get clean before taking a shower.

Welcome to the 10 Year Club.

This month we get to add three more people to a group that means a lot to us at BayWay CrossFit.

Miriany, Robert, and Hillary have officially been with us for 10 years.
10 years is a long time.

When someone stays with your gym for that long, they are not just a member anymore. They become part of the story. Part of the culture. Part of the family.

Miriany is basically the chairman of our Rusty Lawn Chair Club, one of the most consistent people in the gym, and someone I always joke with about being the mayor because she knows everybody and is always busy. But somehow, even with everything she has going on, she still makes it to the gym at least 3x a week.

Robert and Hillary have been with us through so many seasons of life. We have watched them grow from a family of two to a family of five, and as their kids get older, they continue to prove that busy parents can still make their health a priority.

These three have seen BayWay grow, change, move, evolve, and keep going.

And honestly, every time someone hits 10 years with us, it reminds me how grateful we are for the people who have chosen to stick with us for this long.

To Miriany, Robert, and Hillary, thank you.

Thank you for your consistency.
Thank you for your loyalty.
