BWCF is THE CrossFit gym in the Baytown area. We run instructor led classes for all fitness levels.

BayWay CrossFit is one of the most unique and contemporary fitness gyms in the Baytown, Tx area! Because of this we like to start out all new members with a complementary intro session. This is a 60-minute, private one-on-one or small group session that gives you a chance to see our facility, learn a bit about our methods and philosophy, and experience a workout. It's a great way for you to see if BWCF is a good fit for you! We'll also answer all your questions about membership and pricing.

🎉 Bring a Friend Week starts Monday, July 27!

Do you have a friend, coworker, spouse, or family member who has been saying…

“I need to get back in shape.”
“I’ve been wanting to try CrossFit.”
“I just don’t know where to start.”

This is the perfect week to bring them.

For the entire week, your friend can train with us FREE.

✅ They’ll get their own profile in our app.
âś… They can schedule any class that fits their schedule.
✅ They don’t have to come to the same class as you (although we’d love for you to work out together!).

If they decide BayWay is the right fit, there are discounts available for both of you when they sign up.

We’re also getting ready to launch our Back-to-School Reset, a 6-week program designed for people who want to get back into a routine before the school year gets away from them. (And we have a teacher appreciation discount as well)

So if your friend has been waiting for the right time…

This is it.

The goal is simple. Be better than yesterday. đź’Ş

Not perfect.
Not the strongest.
Not the fastest.

Just a little better than you were yesterday.

Some days that means hitting a PR.
Some days it means showing up when you didn’t feel like it.
Some days it’s choosing the healthier meal or getting one more rep.

Small wins stacked together become big results.

If you’ve been waiting for the “perfect time” to start, this is your sign.

This weekend as we were cleaning equipment and getting everything ready for the new space.

While I was wiping down one of our old rowers, I caught myself wondering…

How many people have sat on this thing over the last 12 years?

How many first workouts? First 500 meters? First classes? First steps toward a healthier life?

That rower has seen people lose 100+ pounds. It has seen moms and dads change their lives. It’s helped create CrossFit Games level athletes. It’s watched complete beginners become coaches. It’s seen kids grow up, become adults, and now raise healthier families of their own.

And honestly… this job isn’t always easy.

There are seasons where the weight of running a business feels heavy. Times where I’ve wondered if life would be simpler with a regular 9 to 5 and someone else making the decisions.

But then moments like this remind me why I stay.

It’s never been about the rowers.

It’s about the people.

The people who trusted us with Day 1. The people who found confidence they didn’t know they had. The people who became stronger, healthier, happier versions of themselves.

Some still train with us. Some have moved away. Some train at other gyms now.

But for a little part of their story… BayWay was home.

And that’s something I’ll never take for granted.

Here’s to the next chapter. ❤️💛

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately…

But we haven’t been sitting still.

We’re currently remodeling the inside of BayWay and working on making our communal space feel cleaner, nicer, and more modern for our members.

We’re also building out the new bay next door, and this space is going to give us a lot more room to serve people better.

The plan is for this area to become our 24/7 functional workout space, for those who need training times outside of our normal class schedule.

It will also give us more room for personal training, small group training, and some new things we’ve been wanting to bring to BayWay.

We’re excited for what’s coming, and we can’t wait for y’all to see it all come together.

If this is something you’ve been wanting, or you’re interested in learning more, send us a message and we’ll talk to you about what we’ve got coming.

BayWay is growing.
And we’re just getting started.

And this is one of the things I love most about CrossFit.

Someone who trains CrossFit consistently can show up and run a 5K, and a lot of times, run it pretty dang well.
Not because we are only runners.
But because we are fit.

There is a difference.

We have had members run 5Ks, 10Ks, 10 milers, half marathons, and marathons while still training CrossFit.

We have had members run under 2.5 hour marathons and still compete in men’s RX CrossFit competitions.

We have had a woman run a sub 1 hour 20 minute 10 mile race, then turn around and win a weightlifting competition.

We have had someone compete in an RX team CrossFit competition, then about a month later go do a triathlon.

We have members who play basketball, softball, soccer, do jiu-jitsu, Pilates, running clubs, and more.

And the reason they are able to go do those things well is because strength and fitness are not holding them back.

That’s what CrossFit does.
It does not make you great at one thing while leaving you helpless everywhere else.

It builds a body that can go do things.
Run.
Lift.
Jump.
Carry.
Climb.
Compete.
Play sports.
Try something new.

Could a runner walk into a CrossFit class and do well right away?
Probably not.
Could someone who only lifts walk into a 5K and do well right away?
Probably not.
But a CrossFitter can usually walk into a lot of different challenges and compete on a fitness level right away.

That’s the point.

We are not just training for the whiteboard.
We are training for life outside the gym too.

Proud of this crew for showing up, doing the work, and putting their fitness to the test.

This is what fitness looks like.

We don’t always do birthday posts on here. Most of those stay in our WhatsApp.

But when we do make one public, you already know it’s for a legend.

Today we get to celebrate Tim.

Tim turned 62 today, and if you’ve followed our page for a while, you’ve probably seen him and the rest of our Legends Class putting in work.

About 6 years ago, Tim decided it was time to get back in shape. Since then, he has become one of the fittest men I know.

But the reason we showcase Tim isn’t just because he made that commitment to himself. It’s because he is the kind of man younger men should look up to. A man of principle. A great dad. A man who does what he says he is going to do.

And on top of all that, he has some serious mental toughness. The man can hold a 20+ minute plank.

A lot of people count themselves out because of age. Tim is proof that you don’t have to.

Happy Birthday, Tim. We’re proud to have you as part of BayWay. 💪

Nervous to start CrossFit? You’re not the only one.

A lot of our members felt the same way before their first class.
They wondered if they were ready.
They wondered if they would be able to keep up.
They wondered if CrossFit was “too much” for them.

But confidence doesn’t come before you start.
Confidence grows when you keep showing up.

Samantha’s review is a perfect reminder that you don’t have to feel ready to begin. You just have to start where you are, and we’ll help you build from there.

If you’ve been waiting to feel ready, this is your sign.

Lifting weights is about more than looking stronger.

Strength training helps your body at the cellular level, supports better muscle development, helps build stronger bones as we age, and improves the way we move in everyday life.

That is why compound lifts matter.

Squats, deadlifts, presses, pulls, carries, and lunges train the body as one system. They give you more return for your time than just isolating one muscle at a time.

But they also need coaching.

More joints, more moving parts, and more weight means technique matters. A good coach helps you move safely, build confidence, and get stronger the right way.

We broke this down in our newest blog.

Read the full blog here:
https://baywaycrossfit.com/why-lifting-weights-is-one-of-the-best-things-you-can-do-for-your-body/

You do not need to be strong to start.

You lift weights to get strong.

Stack the days.

Results don’t come from one perfect workout.
They come from showing up again… and again… and again.

Some days you feel great.
Some days you don’t.
Some days the weights feel heavy, the workout feels messy, and motivation is nowhere to be found.
But every day you walk through the doors, you’re building something.

More confidence.
More strength.
More discipline.
More momentum.

That’s what we preach at BayWay CrossFit: consistency over perfection.
You don’t have to be the best in the room.

You just have to keep showing up.
Start where you are. Stack the days. The results will come.

Ready to start? Send us a message and we’ll help you take the first step.

Technique Tuesday: Step-Up for Glutes 🍑

Want to feel your step-ups more in your glutes and less in your quads?

Your setup matters:

âś… Take a long step back
âś… Keep your front shin vertical
âś… Drive through your full foot
âś… Squeeze the glute at the top

When you stand too close, your knee travels forward and the movement becomes more quad-dominant.

When you take a longer step back, keep your shin vertical, and control the movement, you’ll feel your glute doing more of the work.

Try this next time you’re doing step-ups and focus on control, not speed.

Save this post for your next lower body day.
