Cleveland Fencing Academy

Fencers sure are a unique breed. And oftentimes only THEY can understand how much mental and physical effort goes into this activity. So we thought it would be a great idea to add a social aspect to the mental and physical ones. Nadia Taylor-Osborn and Katherine Vins have put together a high school fencing social club. CFA is fully backing the club.

They're looking to do some cool activities for fun in the upcoming season. Please join if you are a 9th through 12th grader. East or west side. Everyone's included.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, in fencing, it takes a dedicated mom, a supportive dad, a loving sister, a knowledgeable coach, and one hard-working, talented and patient fencer to win one of the six gold patches awarded in the United States in each category. One for each region, ours being the Midwest. Julien did it! We are proud of you and thrilled to be part of the journey. Enjoy the read!

Julian with first Direct Elimination win in Junior Super Junior Cadet Circuit tournament in Las Vegas upsetting the #93 seed. Not bad for a freshman at University School from Cleveland. He has 5 more years in this catagory to move up and up and up.

Nothing is more fun or rewarding than working with a fencer at their first tournament. We got the rare opportunity to do that with not 1, not 2, but 12 fencers yesterday at CFA- Beachwood. Coaches Ahmad and Eric got to pair up CFA East and West, girls and boys, tall and short, and everything in between with each other to create a fun and competitive team event. The nail biter was the two teams bouting for the bronze medal, which ended in a....tie! Crazy! A few tears, lots of smiles, and hopefully a bunch of college fencers come out of this group in a couple years! Parents. fans and students, hank you so much for attending and making it so fun! Next time in Lakewood!
