We instill values of discipline, honor, and self-control in all our students by utilizing the ancien

Since 2001, our bamboo-covered dojo has been a safe place for all of our students to grow as individuals in a fun environment with expert teachers. We focus on keeping our classes small, so that we may emphasize the benefits of karate in a more personal manner. This allows our students to grow exponentially in their karate practice as well as self-development by instilling values like discipline, self-reliance, confidence, and more. If you or your child are ready to embark on an exciting adventure of growth, make some new friends, learn an awesome skill, and develop healthy habits, then we’d love to welcome you into our family.

With a heavy heart, I want to honor my dear friend, Dale Coker, and share what he meant to me, my son Bobby, and our entire dojo family.

Dale welcomed us into the Japan Karate Institute family with open arms. Through our friendship and my teaching of the American Pressure Point Self-Defense System, our schools became connected in a way that went far beyond training. We became family, and that connection exists because of Dale.

He was a mentor to me and Bobby, and his guidance helped shape our dojo. I turned to him for advice about running my school, making difficult decisions, and getting through hard times. He always had my back. What began with a shared love of martial arts became one of the most meaningful friendships of my life.

To our students and everyone at Japan Karate Institute: we share a bond that Dale helped build. We honor him by continuing to learn, supporting one another, and keeping that family connection strong.

Our love and prayers are with Dale’s family, his students, and everyone who loved him. I will always be grateful for his friendship, his guidance, and the way he treated us as his own.

Rest in peace, Dale. You were my friend, my mentor, and my brother. We will miss you, and we will never forget you.
