“Dear Members and Friends,
On behalf of the OCHA and COCHA, we are proud to bring the National Cutting Horse Association Clinic Series to the Kerley Horse Center on April 18–19, and we are especially excited to share that this clinic will be geared specifically toward new and novice participants.
If you or someone you know has been looking for the right place to get started in cutting and is looking for the opportunity to build a strong foundation that will support growth and enthusiasm, this is it! This clinic is intentionally designed to help beginner and novice riders build a strong foundation, both in and out of the arena, in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
The NCHA Clinic Series brings cutting education, hands-on training, and judging insight directly to affiliates and their members, while warmly welcoming newcomers to the sport. Support for the Clinic Series is generously provided by the NCHA Foundation, whose commitment to education helps strengthen the future of our sport.
The clinic will feature NCHA staff and professional trainers who provide:
Classroom-style judges’ seminar led by NCHA Director of Judges
One-on-one and group instruction from professional trainers
Live cattle work in a mock show setting
Registered participants will be provided breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday AND breakfast and lunch on Sunday
Please note: Horseback slots will be limited to 32 riders and participants are responsible for providing their own horse. Audit only participation is available. Both horseback and audit participation requires registration.
Attached you will find the event flyer and registration form (including pricing information). We encourage you to share this opportunity with any new or novice riders who may benefit from this educational experience. Participants will gain valuable knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to grow in the show pen and beyond. We look forward to seeing you there and helping build confident, capable cutters!
For questions or to book your slot today, contact Mary Freeborn at 541.601.7921 or [email protected]”

Our show on Saturday reminded me of all the reasons I became a member of COCHA! We had a ton of fun and it was a great way to end a fabulous season. The Costume and Bridleless classes were a blast! We did not have any visits from witches or ghouls this year, but we did have 2 cows, a shark, a southern business man, a race car driver, and the one and only Lightning McQueen!
Thank you to all and a huge shoutout to our amazing 2025 Sponsors
