Flying Flower Ranch is located in East Bend in the town of Alfalfa. We raise and sell angus cattle, Boer meat goats and host equestrian events.

Update: Broken leg calf is doing well! She is getting around on her splint well. Deano has named her Eilean . ๐๐
Mama cow is a little fractious being away from the rest of the herd. So we are trying a product called FerAppease which is a maternal pheromone and reportedly helps calm in stressful situations.

Things not often talked about in ranchingโฆโฆ broken leg in a calf.
๐This calf was (likely) stepped on by its mom while mom got up from laying next to it. While this is our first calf leg break, the vet says it is pretty common.
๐Prognosis for this type of fracture (not involving joints, not through the skin) is very good.
๐Of course, this happened yesterday - on a Sunday ๐. We isolated mom and baby in a pen, gave an NSAID, and saw the vet first thing this morning to get it wrapped.
๐Healing time is expected to be about 6 weeks.

Another article about Oregon IP28. There is so much wrong with this bill. It isnโt just about fishing, hunting and ranching. It affects pest control - as in there would be none (to effectively keep rodents in check). Hanta virus is currently in the news, but that is not the only disease rodents carry. This bill was created by ignorant people who canโt see beyond their activism.
