Weather looks cool but some nice wind for Learn to Sail day Saturday.

I’m going to give the East Side (area 2) of the lake a go. There are three docks for launching and recovery so i won’t have to wade in the ever becoming colder waters. Parking lot is at the end of 18th street

Weather permitting I’ll set out marks at noon. And bring along the start timer for some start line experience

I’d love to have modern International One Meter, but they just keep getting further and further beyond the budget. And hull designs continue to be fresh today, then old news before one can be delivered.

3D printing is closing some of the entry obstacles, but im still reluctant to the durability. Ive toyed eith 3DP and something always seem to fail in the construction process.

So im giving 3DP sailboat i try with a Footy “Smoothy” and a slightly larger Nano Flighty

Today we share examples of course layouts

Model Yacht racing courses are typically setup parallel to the shoreline or dock. During a race it is common to see Skippers walking the shoreline as their yacht traverses the course.

Our standard course for model yacht racing is the Windward_Leeward Course. Mark layouts may vary using a single windward and/or leeward Mark. Race lengths vary depending on course length, but generally 2 laps is a race

Other course layouts include Triangle Course, Arena Course, or Olympic Course
