FYI…

Dear Parents,
Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade who intend to participate in sports at Bush Hills STEAM Academy or Jackson Olin High School for the 2026-2027 athletic season are informed that athletic physicals will be conducted at J.O. on Monday, May 4th. These physicals, sponsored by UAB, are mandatory for all sports and are an annual requirement. Your child should have received necessary forms requiring parental completion and signature, including permission forms. We will travel by bus to J.O. leaving the school at 9:00am. To ensure timely processing, please ensure all forms are completed and signed by Friday, May 1st. Please reach out to Coach Edwards if your child needs the forms.

Congratulations to our JOMS Boys on placing 3rd overall in the Birmingham City Schools Middle School Championship Track Meet!!!

Justin Motley placed 1st in the 200m, 2nd in the 100m, 3rd in the long jump and 3rd in the 4x100m relay

Kentrell Terrell placed 4th in the 200m, 8th in the 100m, and 3rd in the 4x100m relay

Dejuan Haggins placed 5th in the 400m, 7th in the 200m, 10th in the 100m, and 3rd in the 4x100m relay

Jakameron Jones placed 8th in the 400 and 3rd in the 4x100m relay

Aaron Reynolds placed 8th in the discus and 10th in the long jump

Anniah Albright placed 2nd in the 200m, 3rd in the 100m, 3rd in 4x100 relay

Natalie Ramsay placed 5th in the 100m, 12th in the 200m, and 3rd in the 4x100 relay
