Philippians 2:3 hits different. I personally felt persecuted after I read that. Something we all can be more aware of and pray for.

The biggest difference between college and pro pitching? Velocity is real… but the consistency is what separates it. ⚾️

At the D1 level I was seeing 88-93 regularly. In pro ball, 94-97 became normal — and every pitcher could locate it. There were no easy at-bats.

Another huge adjustment was metal bats vs wood bats. With metal, mish*ts can still find grass. With wood, the barrel has to be on time and on plane consistently. It exposed every weakness in your swing.

Pro ball also gave me more time to focus strictly on baseball. No classes, less social life, just showing up every day ready to compete and improve. But with that came more pressure. Baseball became your job, and performance determined everything.

Looking back, tougher pitching forced me to become a more complete hitter. Better timing. Better approach. Better adjustability.

Funny enough, I finished my entire college career with 6 home runs… then hit that many in a single month in pro ball. Sometimes growth happens when the game forces you to evolve.

Baseball Dads✍️ Try giving your your hitters freedom 🔓to fail and watch them take off🚀🚀

“I tell every young hitter I train the same thing:

Failure is part of baseball.

I played professionally and still struck out more times than I wanted to. The difference between players who grow and players who quit is learning how to respond to failure.

Young athletes don’t need coaches and parents tearing them down after a bad game. They need guidance, confidence, and the freedom to compete without fear.

One bad at-bat doesn’t define you.
One bad weekend doesn’t define you.

Learn from it. Flush it. Show up ready to work again tomorrow.

That’s how ballplayers are built.” ⚾🔥

No secret that the back hip coil is the key to controlling the stride.

Use this “kickstand” drill to help you “stay back” longer and fire👌
