Repair and replacement work is starting along a section of the Boise River Greenbelt in Southeast Boise along E. Parkriver Drive from S. Temperance Way to E. Rivernest Court. The project will result in significant improvements to the existing Greenbelt pathway at Wood Duck Island and connection to Barber Park. The asphalt pathway will be replaced with concrete creating a smooth, long-lasting surface. A suggested detour map is attached with this post. Signage routes users around the construction via the adjacent roadway. Site mobilization is underway by contractor Granite Construction. Work will start on the west end of the path and shift to the east end near Barber Park with the goal of completion by the end of the calendar year. Boise Parks and Recreation will continue to share updates as they are available. Please stay out of fenced and closed areas for your own safety.
Visit our project webpage to learn more about this needed work happening in coordination with homeowners in the area: https://www.cityofboise.org/departments/parks-and-recreation/parks/boise-greenbelt/2026-greenbelt-improvement-project/

It's time to stop and smell the roses at Julia Davis Park 🌹 We're celebrating the restoration of the beloved Rose Garden in Boise's oldest park, featuring new paved accessible pathways, an improved garden layout and upgraded irrigation to help the roses thrive for years to come. A heartfelt thank you to Diane Davis Myklegard, the Idaho Rose Society, our project partners, dedicated volunteers and Boise Parks and Recreation park maintenance team. Their hard work helped carefully preserve the garden's memorials while removing, caring for and replanting each rose bush. Plan a visit soon to experience this beautiful Boise treasure!
