This Saturday, we proudly celebrate LaRome White, a Louisville native and University of Louisville alum, as he is inducted into the University of Louisville Hall of Fame — a well-deserved honor for one of the city’s true rugby trailblazers.

LaRome was introduced to rugby in 2010 and went on to represent the University of Louisville, laying the foundation for an elite professional career. That journey grew into eight seasons in Major League Rugby (2018–2025), where he competed at the highest level for the Seattle Seawolves, Austin Gilgronis, Chicago Hounds, and Houston SaberCats, earning 50+ MLR caps and a reputation as a battle-tested professional.

After college, LaRome continued his development internationally at the Sharks Academy under Springbok legend Tendai Mtawarira. His professional breakthrough came in 2018 with Seattle, where he helped capture MLR’s inaugural championship, lifting the league’s first-ever Shield. His career was later highlighted by a career-best 14 appearances in 2023 and a league-leading 14–2 regular season with Houston in 2024.

From local Louisville fields to championship stages across the country, LaRome White’s journey is a testament to perseverance, growth, and excellence.

Tomorrow evening Mon 11/24 starting at 5pm, Robert & I are teaching a youth rugby clinic to Refuge BG at Dishman McGinnis Elementary near WKU (375 Glen Lily Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42101). If you're relatively new to rugby, one of the best ways to learn is to teach others. If you've been around a couple years, you'd be a help to us if you're available.
