A lot of our younger fighters and gym members weren’t even alive om September11th, 2001, and may not fully understand just how much that day impacted America. So, for those who didn’t live through it, here’s a little history lesson.
These days, there’s so much going on that a major story can take over the news for a few days and then disappear when the next one comes along. 9/11 was different.
Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives, and an entire generation witnessed something we never forgot.
Breaking news that one of the Twin Towers had been hit by a plane spread across the country in minutes.
Everyone tuned in to see the live covrage.
At first, nothing had been confirmed and most of us thought it was just a horrific accident.
Then, live and uncensored, we all watched a second plane hit the other tower. It wasn't an accident. We were attacked on our own soil.
Ask almost anyone who was old enough to remember that day, and they can probably tell you exactly where they were when they heard the news and first saw the footage.
25 years later, it’s important that the generations who weren’t there understand why this day still means so much. It represents the lives lost, the courage of first responders, and the way people across the country came together in the face of tragedy
