What a day underwater at Broad Beach in Malibu!

We had some fantastic Southern California dive conditions today:

🌊 Visibility: 30+ feet
🌡️ Surface Temperature: 71°F
🤿 Water Temp at 30 ft: 68°F
🌊 Waves: 1–2 feet
🏖️ Entry & Exit: Easy overall

And the marine life did not disappoint! We encountered lots of sea life, with the stars of the dive being the horn sharks cruising and resting along the reef. 🦈🐠🌿

Days like this are a great reminder of how much there is to explore right here along the Southern California coast.

With 400+ shark species living in our oceans and 70% at risk due to human impacts, these incredible animals need our ongoing support. Overfishing, habitat loss, plastic pollution, and climate change are pushing many species toward the brink.

Over 100 million sharks are killed by humans each year, yet we're more afraid of them than they are of us. The truth is, sharks don't hunt people. Fear kills more sharks than they will ever do to us.

The biggest fish in the ocean is also one of the gentlest. 🦈💙

Whale sharks can grow over 40 feet long, filter up to 6,000 gallons of water per hour, and live up to 100 years. Despite their incredible size, they're completely harmless to humans, filter feeders that eat tiny plankton and krill.

But whale sharks are vulnerable to boat strikes, pollution, and overfishing. They need our protection.

This Shark Week, we're celebrating these gentle giants and the incredible marine ecosystems they call home. Amazing size. Gentle nature. Worth protecting. 🌊
