Well we all know the risks but the day we all dread as moto parents and riders hit us like a truck this Sunday. Things could have been worse and we are glad they weren’t

Jaxson Howery and 2 other kids were out in front battling for the lead and from what we’ve heard from others and Jaxson recalls a mid next to him got kicked from a jump and shot into Jaxson’s line. Jax was a little over on the jump and landed on the other kids back tire with his front. Someone managed to shoot Jax off the back and his left leg got trapped in his back tire with it still moving and it got stucked between the tire and frame braking his left femur Bikes got tangled up and his leg landed and a not natural angle.

He was taken by ambulance (with me) to the local hospital to confirm the femur break and he was taken by helicopter (thankfully I was allowed to ride with) to a level one trauma center north of Minneapolis. He had surgery Sunday night and we headed home Monday about noon. He has a titanium rod in his leg with about 6 incisions and crutches. Crazy that’s all there is. No brace or cast.

He’s doing well. Keeping pain under control. Leg is very swollen still. He’s bummed about losing his progress this season having made such progress. And they had to cut his brand new fav gear set off.

We are thankful for everything that reached out and all the staff in both hospitals. Our ambulance teams and life flight staff.
