KOBO says the Mesa Veolia Arizona Open required UPA-A-approved equipment in its PPA junior divisions, while other amateur age and skill brackets accepted USAP-approved paddles. Two young players who had trained with Thunder Axe paddles faced a choice: change paddles or sit out their junior events.
