Tristan is a coming five-year-old Percheron cross gelding standing 15.3 hands high. He has been doing it all this summer - trail riding, arena patterns, gathering cows and messing around with the kids.

Hay day. 🙌

❄️ It’s that time of year to start stacking in the hay that will carry us through next May.

Hay in the stack is sometimes better than money in the bank if you’re responsible for livestock! 🏦

This is the first of many loads, sourced both in and out of state to meet the needs of our herd through the winter months ahead. 👍🏻

🌅 Our next River Sunsets ride is coming right up on Sept. 4!

🌅 These group rides are at beginner level and are open to anyone who would like to join, ages 8 and up. No horse ownership necessary, helmets available if desired - we will bring you a suitable horse that is saddled and ready to go!

🙌 When a student can get on my temperamental four-year-old and make her look like a dream, that’s the real reward for a teacher. I know she’s not an easy ride but Rosie made her look good!

🏆 Congrats to Rosie for moving up to Level 6 in the C Bracket Riding School! Rosie has been in our riding program for years - probably six or more! - and she has advanced to finishing her own project mare really well and helping us ride colts and project horses. It hasn’t always been easy, but she has had the grit to stick with her horsemanship journey and break through to new levels.

🏅Rosie’s last test to check off was riding an unfamiliar horse accurately through a pattern, and she passed today with flying colors.

👏 I am proud to watch all my students conquer challenges and advance through our riding levels. It takes a lot of perseverance to learn horsemanship from the ground up, but the results are so worth it and we are glad to play a part as their coaches.

Paige and Emma were such a huge help at the barn this summer, and it’s been a blessing that Paige shared not one, but two summers with us!

Thanks for your dedication and ownership around the barn, Paige. You have been 100 percent bought in and we sure appreciate you!

Your talents as an artist are the icing on the cake. 🎂 We will have a horse saddled and ready whenever you come back to visit. 🙏

Hard work pays off. This mare Shay is the definition of a work in progress!

We picked her up from our Amish partner at the 4th of July and quickly found out that every time she was cinched up under saddle it would touch off some pretty spectacular fireworks. 🧨

Her story is that she is about seven years old and she flunked out as a saddle horse, washed up as a broodmare, and that’s how she wound up at C Bracket because there was no place for her on an Amish farm either.

She has taken a lot of time and problem solving, but it’s been quite a few rides since she last bucked, and now we are moving out freely with a rider at the walk and trot! 🙌

We ♥️ our ponies with potential, and we work really hard to keep building our own skills so we can help them and find them a place in society.
