The Platte River Trail is located along the scenic North Platte River in Casper, Wyoming.

The Platte River Trail is managed by the Platte River Trails Trust, a nonprofit organization with a mission to develop a river pathway while preserving the scenic, natural and historic value of the North Platte River, and to assist with the development of a network of trails that contribute to our community's economic vitality and quality of life.

Along the Platte River Trails, benches, boulders, and picnic tables offer places to rest, take in the scenery, and enjoy the journey. Most trail users pass these familiar landmarks without a second thought. Yet many hold deeper meaning, honoring lives well-lived, loved ones deeply missed, and stories worth remembering.💚

For Darrell Poisson, one particular bench is more than a place to sit. It is a lasting tribute to his wife, Bonnie, and a reminder of the love and memories they shared.

Thank you Casper Police Department for this great explanation of where to safely enjoy your electric recreational vehicles!

As electric bikes, scooters, and motos become more common throughout Casper, the Casper Police Department is launching an education campaign to help riders and families better understand the laws and safety considerations surrounding these devices.

Not all electric-powered devices are treated the same under the law. We encourage everyone to review the attached flyer to learn more about the differences, applicable rules, and safe riding practices.

As part of this campaign, officers will be conducting traffic stops when violations are observed, using these opportunities to educate riders about applicable laws and safe riding practices. Citations may also be issued when appropriate.

Regardless of legal requirements, we encourage all riders to wear a helmet, choose appropriate clothing and footwear, and stay alert to their surroundings.

Parents and guardians, please make rider safety a regular conversation with your children. Talk with them about traffic laws, safe speeds, where they can ride, and the importance of being aware of others.

Our goal is to promote safe, responsible riding and help keep everyone safe on Casper's streets and pathways.

Looking for a fall picnic spot?🧺🍂

The Platte River Trail connects 10 local parks that feature picnic tables and even a few covered shelter areas for a cozy picnic setup. Some of the most popular picnic spots along the River Trail are the Mills 1st Street Park, The Tate Pumphouse, Amoco Park, Paradise Valley Park, and Crossroads Park.
