Hello, Castleton Parks & Recreation Fans!

We’re excited to announce that we are moving forward with our new Parks & Recreation management platform, RecDesk! Our staff has been hard at work learning the new system, and you’ll be seeing new programs, features, and information added as we continue to build out the platform.

Starting August 24 through Labor Day Crystal Beach will open to the public at noon and closing at sunset, Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM to sunset.

Additionally, the recreation office will be closed until Monday August 31. The recreation center will be open for pickleball, select board meeting, and a private rental only.

Ready to go from the couch to the finish line? Castleton Couch Potato to 5K is a fun, supportive program designed to help participants build endurance, confidence, and healthy running habits—no matter your starting point! Each Saturday, we’ll meet at the Castleton Recreation and Activity Center before heading out to the D&H Rail Trail for our workout. All skill levels are welcome, whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to running, or simply looking for some motivation to get moving. The program runs Saturdays from September 12 through November 21, building toward the ultimate goal: participating together in the Castleton Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, November 26! Come as you are, lace up your sneakers, and let’s get moving!

Turkey Trot race registration is not included in the program fee.

Program Fee:

Castleton Residents: $45

Non-Castleton Residents: $60

Dates: Saturdays, September 12–November 21

Time: 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Location: meet at Castleton Recreation and Activity Center & D&H Rail Trail

Final Event: Castleton Turkey Trot — Thursday, November 26

Barre and Yoga is back this fall in Castleton. Taught by Sabrina Hance, this fusion class combines the core strengthening movements of a Barre workout and the deep restorative and long-held floor stretches of Yin Yoga. It balances active muscle burn with deep joint release. It will build strength, tone muscles, increase flexibility, reduce stress, and calm the mind. Open to all fitness levels.
