Every great player I coached was mentally strong. They were never tired, never made excuses, played through mistakes and wanted hard coaching. Toughness is a mental mindset and builds a winning culture.

Excited to announce the coaches for our upcoming RBC Skills Academy. The goal was to have a wide variety of coaches from every youth level who all share the same values as RBC. These coaches are giving their free time to give back to the youth and teach the game. What a benefit for players to hear different perspectives of the game from so many quality hoop minds. I’m grateful and honored to have each coach attend. The coach in me never stops learning so I’m excited to hear and watch how they teach the game.Take a look at who we have attending!

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐳: RBC team coach and skills development coach. Coach Hernandez is our youngest coach attending who turns just 22 in September. Although young his mind for the game is mature. Coach Hernandez has already had 2 head coaching positions for 2 different programs and caught the coaching bug at 17. He has a unique ability to get the best out of his players and his in game decisions are that of a veteran coach. Coach Hernandez runs many of the RBC events and is a big reason for our success.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚: RBC team coach and skills development coach. Also, Hanover Central boy’s JV head coach. Coach Jeeninga’s clear communication with his players and his ability to teach the game is awesome. Whenever he coaches you know exactly what he expects out of you and he does a great job allowing players to make mistakes. He is detailed oriented and loves to teach the game. Coach Jeeninga will be running one of our skills courts.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧: Eleven years as a middle school coach. Currently Crown Point Christian 6th grade boys head coach and 8th grade girls head coach. Great feel for in game coaching. Shares same values as RBC. Love talking hoops with Coach Felton and fun to coach against! Good mind for players to pick. Coach Felton will be helping with one of our skills courts.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧: Merrillville High School boys varsity head coach. Won Conference, Sectional & Regional Championships. Coach Patton has helped players earn scholarships to D1, D2, D3, JUCO and NAIA level. Experience in training players from beginner to NBA players. Coach Patton and I share the same values for players on and off the court. Coach Patton responded with an immediate “yes, anything to give back to the youth” when asked to attend. Class act. Coach Patton will be our guest speaker and will run one of our skills courts.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞: Coach Moore is the founder of Core Athletics and is an elite skills development trainer. Coach Moore is also the skill development coach for the Indiana Game Girls program. Coach Moore has a strong reputation in the region for helping girls and all players develop their game. We are honored to have Coach Moore. Coach Moore will be running one of our skills courts.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐊𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐳: Lowell High School girls varsity head coach. Coach Chavez continues to lead a consistent Lowell girl’s program that is productive year after year. Coach Chavez is a Sectional champ and has over 100 wins at Lowell. She has done a great job building the girls youth program in Lowell and their success shows. Coach Chavez is one of the longest tenure head girls coaches at one school in the region. I respect her consistency and the way she continues to get young players excited to play in her program. Coach Chavez will be helping on one of our skills courts.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Hanover Central boys varsity head coach. Coach Spring is a 2 time sectional champ at Hanover and also has coached at Mishawaka and North Judson-San Pierre as a varsity assistant. Coach Chandler is a former D2 player where he scored over 1000 points. His experience and in game coaching knowledge is a great addition for players attending this camp. Coach Spring will be helping on one of our skills courts.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫: Sports Performance Coach. Coach Winter works with young to pro athletes and has experience in sports medicine, physical therapy and strength and conditioning. Coach Winter also does a great job helping athletes get faster, improve strength and prevent injuries. I watched Coach Winter first hand how he trains and he cares about each athlete he works with. He works with many local region athletes and we are honored to have him. Coach Winter will be on site giving his knowledge and putting players through agility tests.

𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐳: Founder and Director of RBC. I love to uplift and challenge players to be the best version of themselves. I also love to uplift and spotlight the incredible coaches our region offers. I’m grateful to have this platform and extremely grateful to have these incredible coaches give their knowledge of the game. My goal as always and goal for this camp is to Develop People while Developing Players.
