When Charleston gets historic rainfall… apparently our boats decided they wanted to become swimming pools. 🌧️🚣‍♀️😂
So before we could get back to paddling, it was ALL HANDS ON DECK for the not-so-glamorous side of boat ownership: BAILING. LOTS. OF. BAILING. 🪣💦
And yes… things may have gotten a little wild in the process. 🐬🤣
The good news? Boats are lighter, arms got an unexpected warm-up, and NO DOLPHINS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO. 😂🐬
Just another day at Charleston Paddle Club.
Rain or shine… apparently we’re getting a workout either way. 💪🌊

💙 BLUE + 💚 GREEN = the perfect way to end the day. 🌅🛶
Our blue and green outriggers hit the water for an hour paddle, with Mother Nature saving the best part for last - a gorgeous Lowcountry sunset. 😍
A little workout. A little fresh air. A whole lot of good vibes.
And yes… you could be out here too! 👀
No experience? No problem. Come give outrigger paddling a try and see why we keep coming back for more.

🥁 Calm on the outside. Chaos on the inside. 😂🐉
The drummer may sit at the front of the boat, but their role goes far beyond beating a drum.
During a dragon boat race, the drummer helps keep the crew connected to the rhythm, communicates with the steersperson, brings the ENERGY and keeps 10 or 20 paddlers focused and fighting all the way to the finish line. 💪🔥
It takes rhythm, awareness, enthusiasm…and maybe just a little bit of crazy. 😂
Think you might have what it takes to take the drummer’s seat? We’d love to get more members behind the drum! No experience necessary — we’ll help you learn.

Peachtree may be behind us, but don’t put those paddles away just yet… our season is FAR from over! 🔥🛶
We still have some BIG races ahead, and our teams have been putting in the miles, the hours and the work as they prepare for Chattajack 31. 💪
Long paddles. Tired muscles. Early mornings. One mile at a time, they’re building the endurance, strength and mental toughness it takes to tackle 31 miles.
There’s still plenty of racing left on the calendar - and plenty of work left to do.
Next stop: Chattajack. Let’s go, Ahi Hoe! 🔥🔥

Between race heats, sometimes you need strategy. Sometimes you need hydration. And sometimes… you just need to remind your teammates that they are PRINCESSES. 👑😂🐉

A little pep talk, a lot of laughs, and apparently one of our guys discovering his inner princess at the end. 🤣

But don’t let the crowns fool you — these princesses came to RACE. 💪🔥

Now it’s time to leave it all on the water!

🌅 The days may be getting shorter…but our paddling season is FAR from over! 🐉🛶
Sunrise is coming a little later, sunset is showing up a little earlier, and yes…Mother Nature is definitely starting to cut into our practice time. 😂 But cooler temps in Charleston? We’ll take it!
Fall is actually one of the BEST times to get out on the water and give paddling a try. Whether you are looking for a new workout, a little adventure, some friendly competition or just a really fun group of people to spend time with - we have a seat for you!
