Please help us welcome Ella Smith to our coaching staff, where she will lead stunt development.
A proud LHS alum, Ella returns home after coaching at Frederick Douglass HS in Lexington, KY. As a D1 cheerleader at Eastern Kentucky University, she helped lead EKU to a UCA College Nationals Championship in 2024 after a National Runner-Up finish in 2023. She was recognized with the Rookie of the Year Award and the Colonel Award for leadership and dedication, and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Coaching.
As a coach at Frederick Douglass, Ella helped guide the program to a Kentucky State Cheerleading Championship and a 6th-place finish at UCA Nationals in one of the nation’s most competitive divisions. She also served as a UCA Instructor and was nominated for UCA Vet of the Year, teaching stunt and safety progressions to athletes across the country.
Having coached Ella at the collegiate level and later worked alongside her as a coach, Kequane Ellis shared:
“Ella has always had a remarkable eye for detail and an ability to notice things others might overlook. Her initiative, reliability, and ability to turn ideas into action make her an invaluable asset to any team.”
We’re excited to welcome Ella back home and know her experience, leadership, and commitment to strong fundamentals will make an immediate impact on our program.
L’s Up!
