Saturday was the start of something exciting for wheelchair football in Cincinnati!
π π π
Thirteen athletes joined The Bridge at LeBlond Recreation Center for our first Wheelchair Football Clinic this year. Coach Kevin Lynnott from Move United Sport led the two-hour session and introduced athletes to the fundamentals of the sport. Players worked through drills, learned plays, and put their new skills to work in a scrimmage.
The clinic, one afternoon on the court, is one of many in the future. This practice session was the first step toward building The Bridge's competitive wheelchair football team in 2027. Through our trademark agreement with the Cincinnati Bengals, the team will compete in Bengals colors, stripes, and branding as it travels to face other wheelchair football teams across the country, including teams affiliated with the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, and Cleveland Browns.
Thank you to Coach Lynnott for sharing his time and expertise with our athletes. We also want to thank the Cincinnati Rec for welcoming us at LeBlond and the volunteers who helped make the clinic possible.
And to the 13 athletes who came ready to learn, compete, and try something new, thank you for being part of the beginning. We cannot wait to see where this team goes next!
Sending it at Mt. Airy Bike Park! π€πΌ
