G'day Philly fans!
Quick takes:
- the Eagles look like they built a playoff caliber defense if what we read is true. Seems there's no holes on D.
- and it's the offense folks are excited about. Is new OC and his crew for real? I'm still wary of injuries on the OL.
- the Phils!! The pitchers look good and the bats are hot. Go guys go!
- and are you excited about the FIFA games? I am. Go USA! I'm still unable to get around but wish I could go.
- with the NFL embracing gambling I'm leaning more toward other sports, especially the college level here in Tampa.
- who will be our next breakout star in Philly sports?
Thanks for your well wishes. My surgery was major and two other things piled on. Unrelated but bothersome. I'm gaining weight back and as soon as I can get more physical that will help. More doc stuff this week.
Our 250th birthday is soon. I wanted to take my wife back up to Philly to see stuff again in the hometown but travel is tough. We will schedule it and I'm glad for everyone that checks out the fabulous history we have in Phila.
Did you get any SpaceX stock? Keep your eyes open. And don't listen to the gurus that post on YouTube.
Summer is here for sure. Feels like upper 90s. With that, I'm out till later.
Go Phils! Go Union! Go Sixers! Go Wings! Go Flyers! Go Eagles! Go Rays! Go Rowdies! Go USA! Go Tampadelphia!!

Did you figure out how you feel about the AJ Brown trade yet? How about the upcoming season?
Here's another big thought to chew on. Did you hear what happened to QB Sam Darnold when he went to LA to play in the SB last February? LA dinged him with taxes. Taxes not just on the one game he played there but for his income the whole season! Whoa!!
I'd fight that one. And I'm sure many of the 1500 players in the NFL would too. So here's my point:
IMO, in MHO, I believe players are going to refuse to play for certain teams because of the local taxes. They'll tell their agents to trade them from teams that just drafted them or traded for them and get them to teams with lower taxes. And the teams may offer to pay the taxes for the player, but this is the big upcoming contract dispute we'll see.
And I agree with the players. Why pay a penalty because of local stupid politicians?
Baseball teams, some pay for player taxes but they don't have a cap. Football does.
That's it. That's enough.
I'm still recovering, but hope to get around soon. Thank you to those who send get well wishes and prayers. I need them.
If you can, check out some FIFA games. Soccer is a talented sport, which blends skills, speed and teamwork. And it's cheaper than our pro sports.
And I hope you remembered D-Day and all the young men that went through that meat grinder.
Go Phils! Go Eagles! Go Union! Go Flyers! Go Wings! Go Sixers! Go Rays! Go Lightning! Go Tampadelphia!

Hello all,
Am recovering well from surgery. Still moving a little slow but everything seems OK. It was very major, and am glad to be done with it. Now some follow-up to do with the doctors and then it's the season.
Tampadelphia is at OCC again this season. Check out the Eagles schedule carefully and see what's available to you at home and then plan to be with us the rest of the way. I'm there every 1pm and 4pm game. Can't make the late ones but I'd prefer to be at OCC supporting them and their business.
So do you think we got a good deal on the AJ Brown trade or not? I've heard it both ways.
My first opinion was no, not that good a deal for us. A 5th rounder is a 2 or 3 and usually a spot player or traded. The 1st round pick in 2028 could be bad if NE continues to play top tier, but probably will be somewhere between # 20 and #32. I also thought new WR Lemon is not the same quality guy as AJB. He's 4" shorter, not as strong, he's fast but as a slot guy working the middle he'll be beat up by his 4th season. So he's a short term fix imo.
Then I heard the trade was good and typically HR. AJB helped our cap by going elsewhere. His attitude was bad at this point. Plus something new factored in that I didn't know. AJB has had some injury issues throughout last year. They were only going to get bigger and affect his future play. He was a #1 draft pick and is 29 years old. The trade opened up for another top WR named Lemon, also a #1, about 22 yo, cap friendly, speed, moves and fight for YAC. The #1 pick is still a #1 pick and high trade currency in the NFL. The pick may be a gem or could just be depth or a trade.
Interesting, right? Do we know which one is more correct? Nope. Nobody does, not even the beat reporters who were around all this for a living. Amateur guys on YouTube sure don't, even talking heads don't.
So I shrug and carry on. It's not as important as breath but is interesting at best.
I still have lively discussions with pals who support HC NS. I think he's an ego that needs to stay out of the coordinator's rooms. That's all I'll say.
I can't stay on a screen much right now so I'll check back in over the weekend.
Let me know what you think, especially about Tampadelphia and our place. You're appreciated.

Tampadelphia,
Hello, it's me. It's been awhile.
A month ago I had a procedure, and am ok. I'm now far enough into recovery to spend some time in front of the screen.
Should be good for the start of the Eagles / Tampadelphia season. We'll be at OCC again this season.
To date, let's catch up.
The Eagles picked up some talent before the draft which should add some fresh depth.
They announced some good new coaches with new ideas for the OC, OL and DBs. Other shuffles happened too.
The draft was confusing to me. Was it for position need or best player available? Seems they looked at players with an eye toward both based on some new things the offense would be doing.
We lost a few guys. Happens every year. More info came out about last season's crash. It was Patullo and (imo) HC NS.
Looks like 11 is a goner for sure. I'm sorry to see his talent go.
We got some nice UDFAs and continue to sign players. SMH on how GM HR does it.
And the schedule is not fan friendly. Five 1 pm games, and more prime time games than any other team. Look the schedule over and plan when you want to join us on game days, as you can spend many in front of your own TV.
The Phils crashed and came back strong under new skipper Mattingly.
The Flyers went up in smoke in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Is it Tocchet?
The Union and Sixers are getting there. The Union has to be a great ticket for Phila. sports.
It's getting hot in Tampa.
My procedure was serious, not immediately critical, and needs watching awhile. Lost 10 lbs but am on the mend.
I'll cut this one short but will be back again soon. Many thanks for your loyalty and support.

Tampadelphia!
Hi, I'm back. Never left, just took the usual break with some new things added.
Doing fine, if you wondered. Got a new medical wrinkle but all may be okay soon. If not, ... ?
Otherwise, we carry on toward another new season ahead. OCC is ready, and things are always being tabled to help improve our game days. They're a good and loyal crew, and appreciate our business.
Looking immediately ahead, the NFL draft is within a week. Who will the Eagles take? Will they move around? Considering all the new players they got this off season, I have no sure comment about who or what position.
Like Marvin Gaye sings, what's going on?
Will they keep AJ Brown? I hope so. I lived through too many seasons of bad Eagles WRs. Keep AJ and let him work it out with Hurts if that's the issue. Maybe this Vrabel scandal will kabosh a Patriots deal and AJ stays. Hoping!
Let them both work it out with the new OC and offensive coaches.
New coaches, new players, new scheme, new needs and backups . . . I'll watch and trust in Howie.
Then the June 1 FA period starts. More maybes. Then training camp. Then the season after 3 warmup games.
This is supposed to be fun, remember?
Experience says we won't have a clue about how the team may do until October. Unless Vegas says otherwise.
I always think it's stupid to kill a good thing, whether a roster, a relationship, etc. But once you do, don't look back after it's too late. Unless you can get it back again.
So I'm here just to state Tampadelphia is focused on great game days, family focus, but loud and passionate. And for the Flyers, Phils, Sixers, Union and Wings, and Lightning, Rays and Rowdies.
Why the Tampa team support? We live here, why not? Same for the other sports. The NFL is getting too out of reach for average fans. Costs for TV packages, games, merch, and all the longer seasons intrudes on our money and time. We all have bills and a whole other life. The NFL is just another choice. Great if you're pulling in great money but many don't.
So, we balance. And at Tampadelphia we keep an eye on that. Venues charge more for food, drinks of all kinds, and tips. They're pushed higher and also add the credit card fee if you choose to pay via cards.
So I suggest this: when the schedule comes out, look it over and choose the games you want to see outside the house. Many may be on different streaming packages you already get. Then bring cash to cover the anticipated bill.
If you are in a new place and don't know costs, or quality of food, start slow by having an earlier meal at home so you can split a plate with your other. Spend and enjoy some of your hard earned money, but be smart.
Or you can do like Buffet and stay home and invest all the money you'd spend elsewhere.
Point is, think and plan your moves.
This is already too long. Thanks for being with us, following us online. It's good to reconnect. I officially retired in 2025 so this season will see more interaction online. But no spam or mailbox overflows from us!
BTW, the Flyers made the playoffs! We're up 1-0 vs the Penguins and the kids are showing Flyers grit.
Stay tuned, lots ahead.
Go Flyers! Go Phils! Go Union! Go Wings! Go Eagles! Go Sixers! Go Bolts! Go Rays! Go Tampadelphia!!

Fellow Philly diehards,
We've had some time to shake off the playoffs and Bunny Bowl, if you bothered to watch. Now we're back to real life, and our other teams are starting up. What's goin on? What's ahead? Ch-ch-changes!
The Phils open spring training in days, the Union won their first game, the Flyers and Sixers are coming back after a break.
Reminds me of that great 50's song about Speedo, who was before my time a bit. Maybe some of you old head danced to it.
Now we refresh and rebuild for next season, assuming all goes well in real life.
In Eagles life, there's several key decisions ahead. It looks like the top Eagles decided to isolate HC NS from much of the offense. Good move, imo. New assistant coaches, new OL coach, probably new plays and schemes. Hopefully we keep 88, 65 and 11. And that Stout stays involved with the team, even if on a part time basis.
I still bristle that our good DB coach went to "that team" and now they have access to our plays, signals and schemes. I am sure Jerruh did NOT want to let this one get away. Especially since the NYG got Harbaugh and a new threat in the NFCE.
Looking at FAs, we have some choices to make re cap space and positions. S Reed Blankenship, LB Dean and DL Philips are all uncertain. 32 calls our defensive signals, a valuable player to keep if DC Fangio is going to retire.
Right now, from here, it looks like the next 3 seasons will be bumpy. Not impossible, but bumpy.
And the You-tubers with their daily ration of blather and maybes rolls on. I'll pass.
Tampadelphia will be working on next season quickly. This off season will go fast. Our focus is the highest quality game day, with an eye on convenience and affordability. We've been about a great game day since the beginning in1994. We're from Philly, and the original and best Eagles fan club in west central FL. We number almost 4500 members and seat over 1,000 in OCC Roadhouse Grill, our Eagles nest. We are For The Fans.
More ahead, stay tuned.

Fellow Philly diehards,
Bang! Boom! Ka-Pow!!
Huh?? Whew.
Jeff Stoutland announced he's leaving as OL coach of the Eagles 2 days ago. Total surprise.
Add this onto the OC fiasco with HC NS's friend, KP.
And a new OC. And another offense coach assistant.
And the several coaches that walked away from our OC spot.
And the drama with WR 11. And QB 1. And RB 26. And maybe DC Fangio retiring.
And now the uncertainty about OL 65.
I needed time to process, not rush to judgement.
Some folks get stressed about the names and changes. I look at it another way. Wins, or losses.
Losing Stout is definitely one game a year loss. So -1.
Losing WR 11 is definitely one loss, maybe two. But we'll score -1 IF it happens.
Losing OL 65 is definitely one loss, maybe two. We'll score this -2 IF it happens.
Adding a new OC is a ? =/-0.. Too much to smooth out.
We have 4-5 new losses just because of this.
What can even this out? Nothing that we know of yet. And we still have negatives ahead.
Money can't fix this. Only new minds and attitudes will. I hope cooler heads prevail.
Pals' opinions? It's the players not executing. Not 100% of the fault IMHO.
My opinion? HC NS is a problem. Can we lock him out of the stadium on game day?
So, guys, cool off, look at the positives and big picture. Get humble. Stay together. Be a team.

Three weeks of cold air and chill! You warm yet? My feet are still freezing.
Felt good to wear a coat, hat or scarf again, wasn't it? How about gloves? Car heater still worked, I hope.
Reminds me of a GREAT tune from back then. Hy Lit at WIBG used it as background for his stories and thoughts. It's a very personal fave from a better time. Bill Pursell will bring you back, give a listen.
Anyhow, let's celebrate a Flyers victory! And a Sixers win too!
The Phillies trucks left for Clearwater. Spring training starts soon. Beware! Watch out for "events" groups selling stuff for big money. You might be able to do better yourself when you cut out the middleman. But if you want to celebrate try OCC. OCC has a fabulous package of food, drink, space, TVs, large screen, etc.
More thanks to everyone who extended thoughts, prayers and condolences on the passing of my brother.
I know the SB is this Sunday, that last post saying it was SB Sunday was a week early. NO Eagles? Just another game.
Big changes in the Eagles. I'll post thoughts tomorrow. See ya then.

Sunday, February 1, '26 SB Sunday!
Baby it's cold outside!
Tampa at 30 degrees this morning and the wind chill dropped it to 20. Tomorrow almost as cold. Welcome to Florida!
Thoughts:
- raise your hand if you like Seahawks.
- big SB event at OCC tonite. Buffet, music, specials, party all night long. Cost? Cheap. If you have to get out, try here.
- otherwise, stay in and stay warm.
- I left off with the Eagles perhaps scanning the offensive minds available for OC just to get ideas. They hired one, from GB no less. Then they hired a second guy as OC coordinator. Both guys have no connection to HC NS. Can't wait to see how this works out. I thought they might be lining up Nick's successors if he doesn't behave. But I'm sure that's not it.
- watch all player nonsense with AJ and Jalen and others disappear with these new guys here. I'm back on track with a tough team again next season. It's GM HR . . . what can you say?
- now we see the rest of the NFCE changing staff in their assistant coaches, trying to find the right chemistry and schemes. Harbaugh in NJ said his plan is to "beat the Eagles." Gee John, there's a shock. Jerruh and the new regime in DC at it, too
- the Flyers need to find someone else to replace Rick Tocchet as HC. This meltdown is epic.
- the Phils still have a great core. Spring training in Clearwater starts soon!
Alot left to do today, so tune back in on Tuesday.
Go Flyers! Go Sixers! Go Wings! Go Phils! Go Union! Go Eagles! Go Tampadelphia!

Tampadelphia Eagles - Philly Sports Fans in Tampa Bay
Thursday, 29 January 26
Fellow Philly sports fans,
I saw two different posts about a new OC for the Eagles, naming two different guys. And still nothing formal in place. You'd think we would have someone hired by now. Whew. I'm in a dizzy. Reminds me of a fun 1969 bubble gum song. And if you weren't around back then, then you missed out.
So I thought 360 degrees around the situation and asked if the roadblock could be Sirianni, Stoutmire or Hurts? GM HR kept interviewing more coaches.
So I stretched my thinking and had a wild idea: suppose it's none of them. Suppose GM HR has someone in mind, but is still interviewing just to collect ideas from offensive guys on how to best fix the Eagles offense for next season. This could be true if the teams these guys coach for all have winning records.
Think about that one.
What's next? We need a different system for the game-day play calling. Maybe a different TO (Table of Organization). That means the reporting changes. Maybe not that far on the team changes, but something.
Otherwise, what's the point of having coaches up in the press box sending down field intel?
We need a General Patton as OC. And if you don't know who Patton was then you're WAAAY behind. Look him up!
The Flyers . . . are they still interested in making the playoffs? Seems they're in a death spiral. C'mon, shape up!
Sixers . . . (sigh).
Wings and Union, God speed, go guys go.
I was on a security site and saw the many, many ways thieves scam your money. Many breach you through the apps on your phone. Never download an app you don't know, or don't know who authored it. Please get cell phone security protection and update your files of known fakes. Scan your phone! Same with the bogus email scams and texts.
On the human level the NFL Championship Game is coming up, aka the Super Bowl. Be wary of local groups holding a "party" or "event" where money is involved...YOUR money. Don't shell out for nothing back. Be suspicious of who's behind it, where the money goes (like a pocket), and how you get refunds.
Otherwise, lay back at your casa and relax with a bev and a dip. It's just a game. Really. No Eagles, no interest.
Time to va-cay and refresh from football, and get set for next autumn.
More ahead. Enjoy the tune!
