Rideability Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. We offer Equine Assisted Services & Learning to children & young adults with diverse abilities & veterans. international.

We work with neurodiverse and physically diverse students. RideAbility’s vision began when watching the power of a horse with a child unable to walk with cerebral palsy. He was given an opportunity to move freely and independently while on the back of a horse– an approach called Therapeutic Riding which is supported by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, P.A.T.H. Watching that child’s physical and emotional connection with the horse, and the way the child’s treatment accelerated, we knew we had found our calling. Combining our passion for riding and teaching therapeutic riding to special needs individuals along with our life-long love of horses, RideAbility opened in Clover SC in 2012 . We bring the benefits of therapeutic riding to individuals with a wide range of disabilities to South Carolina. At RideAbility, we offer a wide variety of Equine Assisted Services designed to empower children and adults with diverse disabilities, as well as veterans, on their journey toward greater independence and fulfillment. Our mission is to promote physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being through transformative power of equine assisted services and learning. We provide therapeutic riding and equine assisted services and learning for children and young adults with autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, PTSD, anxiety, and various other diverse needs. Wendy Schonfeld the Director of RideAbility is a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, Advanced Special Olympics Equestrian Coach and a Doctor of Chiropractic. These combined skills allow her to offer a unique perspective as well as absolute competency directing and teaching Therapeutic Horseback Riding at RideAbility.

🐴❤️ LET’S TALK ABOUT FUN WHILE ACHIEVING GOALS! 🎉

Who says working toward therapeutic goals can’t be FUN? At RideAbility, we believe learning, growing, and achieving goals should be filled with laughter, excitement, and happiness!

So how do we sneak all those incredible therapeutic benefits into our riding sessions without our students even realizing how hard they’re working? 🤔

WE TURN LEARNING INTO FUN! 🐴🌟

🎯 Reaching for objects? We’re building core strength, balance, and coordination!

🎯 Playing games on horseback? We’re developing focus, problem-solving, and following directions!

🎯 Navigating obstacles? We’re encouraging motor planning, confidence, and independence!

🎯 Laughing, interacting, and celebrating? We’re strengthening communication, social skills, and self-esteem!

And the BEST part? Our students often think they’re simply playing games and having the time of their lives! ❤️

But behind every game, every activity, and every giggle is a carefully planned opportunity to work toward an individualized goal.

Because goals don’t always have to LOOK like work to create meaningful progress!

At RideAbility, we don’t just teach skills. We create experiences where our students WANT to learn, WANT to try, and feel empowered by every accomplishment.

🐴❤️ Practice makes progress, not perfection! And having FUN along the way makes the journey even more meaningful!

❤️🐴 Being nonverbal doesn’t mean being unable to communicate. It simply means communicating in a different way.

Sometimes the most beautiful words are never spoken. They are heard through giggles, seen in smiles, and felt through pure happiness and joy. ❤️

At RideAbility, we know that communication comes in so many forms. And when we see those precious smiles and hear those contagious giggles while our students are riding, we know exactly what they are telling us.

Joy doesn’t need words. Happiness doesn’t need a voice. And sometimes, the most powerful communication comes straight from the heart. 🐴❤️

When the Craig family puts their minds to creating the perfect Halloween costume, they NEVER disappoint! 🎃❤️

Every year, we sit on pins and needles waiting to see what incredible, creative costume they’ll come up with next!

What makes it even more special is how they always find the most AMAZING way to incorporate her wheelchair into the fun! Their imagination, creativity, and love shine through every single year!

This is what inclusion is all about! Celebrating abilities, embracing creativity, and making sure EVERYONE gets to experience the magic and excitement of Halloween!

Craig family, you have outdone yourselves once again! We LOVEEEEEE this so much! 🧡🎃👻❤️

🦁💙 A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE LAKE WYLIE LIONS CLUB! 💙🦁

Sometimes, a gift is so much more than a donation. It is a gift of independence, confidence, communication, and endless possibilities! ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to the Lake Wylie Lions Club for their generous sponsorship of a much-needed FM transmitter system for our students with hearing impairments at RideAbility Therapeutic Riding Center.

This life-changing technology will allow our instructors to speak directly into a microphone, transmitting their voices straight to our students’ compatible hearing aids.

Imagine the difference this will make for a student riding a horse, being able to hear instructions more clearly, communicate with their instructor, and feel more confident and independent in the saddle! 🐴❤️

For our students with hearing loss, this is about so much more than hearing. It is about inclusion, safety, independence, empowerment, and the opportunity to achieve greatness!

At RideAbility, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and discover just how capable they truly are.

To the amazing members of the Lake Wylie Lions Club, THANK YOU for recognizing this important need at our center and for believing in the abilities and potential of our extraordinary students.

Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in their lives, one ride, one instruction, and one accomplishment at a time.

Because at RideAbility, every ability matters, every voice matters, and every student deserves to shine! 🌟

With grateful hearts, THANK YOU! 💙🐴

When a student feels empowered, independent, confident, and filled with happiness, we know we have succeeded in our mission. ❤️🐴

At RideAbility, success isn’t just about what our students accomplish on horseback. It’s about how they feel about themselves, the confidence they gain, the independence they discover, and the joy they carry with them.

Because our greatest success is watching our students believe in themselves and realize just how capable they truly are.

That is what RideAbility is all about. ❤️
