Playing back to back nights can be difficult for most teams UNLESS you are Lions Volleyball. The Lions hosted Prairie Home on Wednesday and sent everyone home happy except the visitors with a 25-17, 25-11, 25-11 victory. CIS improved to 3-1 and will next travel across town to take on CFS next Tuesday starting at 6pm.

Middle School Cross Country opens their season with good performances at the Gans Creek Opener on Wednesday afternoon. It was very warm but Hadley Thurwanger-Hunt ran strong to finish 22nd while on the boys side Liam Murphy finished 8th, Owen Bricker 22nd, and Asher Eisenstein 25th. The boys team earned a 6th place finish overall(rest of individual results are in comments).

Next up is another trip across town to Bethel park next Wednesday at 4pm.

Lions volleyball gets a big come from behind victory over La Monte on Tuesday night at ‘The Cage’ winning in 4 closely contested sets 19-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-19. Unfortunately the JV contest had to be canceled due to La Monte not having enough players. Lions volleyball returns to action Wednesday night against Prairie Home for a varsity only match with first serve at 6pm at CIS!

It was a fun night with a packed house at CIS Friday night for some middle school volleyball. The middle school Lions played well but dropped two very close matches to CFS and CCA. Next will be return matches with both on Friday night at CFS with the Lions playing CCA at 6:30 followed by a match with CFS at 7:30.

Lions Volleyball sends everyone home quickly on Thursday night with a 25-14, 25-16, 25-22 win over Chamois to even their record at 1-1. CIS gets some good serving in set one from Georgie Swisher, good setting off the bench from Addison Wheeler in set two, good defensive play from Lily Thies, and strong attacking performances from Lilia Stuhlman and Syrena Sadler. It was a good team performance with several good contributions. The Lions are back in action at home Tuesday night with a JV/Varsity doubleheader against La Monte with the Varsity match starting at 6pm.

Lions Volleyball opens their home portion of their schedule on Tuesday night in front of a good crowd at ‘The Cage’but could not overcome an early deficit falling to Otterville 25-27, 11-25, 25-17, 21-25. The JV squad also dropped their opening match 22-25, 16-25. Next up will be a varsity only home match with Chamois on Thursday. First serve is at 6pm

Monday Lions golf traveled to the New Bloomfield invitational and fared well on an extremely warm day. This was the first full CIS team golf event in program history.

Lions Tennis cruises to a 9-0 victory over Fulton on a scorching Monday afternoon at Cosmo Park. Syrena Sadler, Ziva Sarnevitz-Lerner, and Audrey Hesemann all secured their first varsity singles victories to go along with wins from Maddie Petris, Lily Thies, and Emma Orford. CIS secured wins in their 3 doubles matches as well. Lions tennis will resume action on September 10 with a trip across town to visit the Battle Spartans at 4:30.

SCHEDULE CHANGED: Tonight’s tennis match v Fulton at Cosmo Park is now pushed back to a 5pm start.
