IRONMAN 70.3 WACO — CCTC SHOWED UP!

Well… the swim was canceled due to weather, but yesterday’s cloud coverage made the rest of the conditions much more bearable! And one thing is for sure — Corpus Christi Triathlon Club had a BIG showing in Waco!

First, HUGE congratulations to Christin and Edward on completing their first IRONMAN 70.3! We are so proud of y’all!

And technically… this was Justin’s first 70.3 too! He’s doing things a little backwards — started with a FULL IRONMAN earlier this year and decided to work his way down!

Tarik and Adam both had GREAT days, and those run paces were 🔥🔥🔥!

As usual, Orlando turned in another solid performance despite dealing with a nagging injury/pain. Way to push through and get it done!

And Kyle Hosek’s infamous zebra kit did NOT let him down. Another solid performance! We are all hoping this was the final appearance of the zebra kit…but we have to admit, it held up!

Andrew Aguirre went SUB-6!! Way to GO, Andrew!

Cour Ulman has been putting in the training, and those efforts absolutely paid off! Such a great performance out there!

April Soto is coming straight off an IRONMAN and STILL absolutely crushed the course today!

We also had TWO relay teams! Both of our cyclists are retired IRONMAN (women) who might just be ready to make a comeback! Let’s go, Diana and Chai!!

And thank you to Arnold and Telisha for bringing it home on the run for our relay teams — Corpus Christi Tri Club and All Guts No Nuts!

AND THEN WE HAD SOME PODIUM & WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MAGIC!

Dr. Randy Fuentes came in 2ND PLACE in his age group and earned a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SLOT in Chattanooga!! Congratulations, Randy!!

And our very own Nick Feraci…

Everyone knows how much work this man puts in. He has trained fearlessly all summer, put in the hours, stayed committed, and today IT PAID OFF!

5TH PLACE PODIUM + A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SLOT!!

SO. DAMN. PROUD. OF. HIM.

Hard work pays off!!

And ONE MORE very important shout-out…

Samantha Thorleifson, THANK YOU for being our amazing Sherpa, for the team shirts, and for capturing so many wonderful pictures from the weekend!

And thank you April and Travis for manning the CCTC tent and taking care of everyone!

What a WONDERFUL weekend! We are incredibly proud of every single athlete who showed up, raced, supported, cheered, volunteered, and represented Corpus Christi.

We love our Triclub!

Congratulations, Charles!

Charles competed in his very first triathlon last weekend at the South Padre Island Sprint Triathlon and had an awesome first showing!

🔥 6th in his age group
🔥 16th overall

And this is just the beginning! Charles is currently training for his first full IRONMAN — IRONMAN Texas this upcoming spring!

He’s being coached by Nick Feraci with NF Coaching, and all that hard work is already showing! There’s a lot more training ahead, but what a great way to kick off his triathlon journey.

Congratulations, Charles! We can’t wait to follow along as you work toward that 140.6-mile finish line at IMTX!

FULL WEEKEND OF RACING FOR OUR TRIATHLETES!

What a weekend for Corpus Christi Triathlon Club!

Friday night, several of our athletes took on Rudy’s Aortic Awareness 5K, and we had several podium finishes! Way to show up, race hard, and support such an important cause!

Saturday, our athletes traded their running shoes for cycling shoes and took on Conquer the Coast, with members tackling various distances!

There was also a very scary moment on the 66 (really 69 ) mile route when a cyclist was found in serious distress. Several of our CCTC members stopped their race to help and stayed with him until medics arrived. We are incredibly thankful to have members who will always put a life before a finish time. We are praying that gentleman pulls through.

April Soto completed her SECOND IRONMAN at IRONMAN Maryland and finished TOP 10 IN HER AGE GROUP! And April, we absolutely loved the finish-line creativity! Congratulations on another incredible accomplishment!

And today, Richelle completed her FIRST Olympic-distance triathlon at Cal Tri Austin! Hills, heat, and all—she got it DONE! Congratulations, Richelle! What an awesome milestone!

What a weekend of racing, teamwork, heart, and some seriously impressive accomplishments.

Congratulations to everyone who raced this weekend! CCTC showed up!

🔥 WHAT A WEEKEND FOR THESE LADIES! 🔥

What a weekend for our very own Angie!! She is just a few weeks out from IRONMAN California and took FULL advantage of Beast of the Brazos and the Waco Wild West 100!

Yesterday, she tackled 2.4 miles in the very HOT Brazos River
And today, she completed her FIRST CENTURY RIDE — 100 MILES!!

It is always so inspiring to watch someone put in the work and then see the fruits of that labor. Angie, we are so damn proud of you!! All that hard work is showing, and we cannot wait to see you take on IRONMAN California!

And a BIG shoutout to her husband, Greg, who decided to knock out a big chunk of the course too — 61 miles just for the fun of it! Now THAT is support!

And we had a couple more ladies making their comeback this weekend! Samantha and Denise have been putting in the work, rehabbing their way back from injury, and this weekend was a pretty awesome reminder that patience, consistency, and hard work pay off.

Yesterday, they tackled the 1.2-mile swim
Today, they were back at it for 26 miles on the bike!

There’s something pretty special about watching our athletes work their way back to doing what they love.

Way to represent, ladies!! CCTC is proud of you!

70.3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINISHERS!

Congratulations are in order for two of our very own Corpus Christi Triathlon Club athletes — Michelle Ramirez and Dr. Randy Fuentes!

Both earned their spots at the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France and raced on one of the biggest stages in our sport this weekend! Michelle took on the women’s race Saturday, and Dr. Fuentes raced with the men today.

And Dr. Fuentes is certainly no stranger to the World Championship stage — he seems to qualify every year! Retirement goals right there!

For those wondering what it takes to get to Worlds: you have to EARN that spot. Athletes qualify through outstanding performances at designated qualifying races, either by earning an automatic age-group slot or through IRONMAN’s performance-based qualification and roll-down system.

Thousands of talented triathletes from around the world came together in Nice this weekend, and TWO OF OUR OWN were among them!

Michelle and Randy, we are incredibly proud of you both! Congratulations on earning your place on the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP stage and representing Corpus Christi!
